Lucky bastards the people who saw them around that time.

Just looking at links for the gig it was a pound a ticket which I think is round about £15 today (not sure how much the golden circle one's were..!! ) and they played a few off Who's Next which hadn't even been released.

The Remastered Woodstock set is out today

Pity it wasn't The Who's full set.

Led Zeppelin turned down Woodstock to play elsewhere that weekend & Jeff Beck quit The Jeff Beck Group the night before they were scheduled to play.

Can't see that anywhere, only the 50th Anniversary Woodstock compilation.

THE WHO S LEGENDARY FESTIVAL SET NOW ON CD The Who s set at the festival allowed the group an opportunity to promote their recently released Tommy album to over 500,000 people, in attendance at Max Yasgur s 600 acre dairy farm over the long weekend of 15th - 18th August 1969. Bookended by a couple of oldies at the off, and two covers plus My Generation concluding their set of just over an hour, Tommy dominated proceedings, with the 75 minute album condensed to ¾ of an hour.

Aye, that bootleg sounds awful.

Just seen the full remastered Woodstock box set (including 6 songs by The Who) is out but it's £120 so I won't be getting that. If The Who's set got an official standalone release I would be all over it.

No contest for me.

"The Kids are Alright "

No they're not Roger with you spouting shite you cunt. Oh and how's Pete getting on with his research on kiddie porn ?

Roger Daltrey has criticised Labour and explained his reasons for being pro-Brexit in a new interview, following controversial remarks where he branded Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn a "communist" and disparaged the #MeToo movement.

Not sure why these two bands have been matched up in this thread as I think their music is very different. Out of the two,as a casual listener,I enjoy Who songs much more but I do acknowledge Led Zeppelin's influence on modern rock music. I've not heard many Zeppelin songs outside of the recognised popular ones but they were a bit too 'heavy' for me.

PS,I hope I'm allowed to contribute to this thread and Paul doesn't give me detention for doing so.

You'll get no argument with me regarding Daltrey he can be an arse but like most rock stars of that age they tent to spout shite

As for Townshend maybe read his autobiography that came out about 7 years ago and find out?

From an angry young man to an angry old one. I have no idea why a multi millionaire rock star would be pro brexit under a typically extreme tory government!

Can we keep the Corbyn stuff out of the music threads please, tory boy will be along any minute to turn it into the usual tedious catfight.

Think it was more to highlight Daltrey than anything else. After all,we all know Corbyn is a communist and listens to Led Zeppelin.
