That was a great fight and a great performance by both men. Yarde showed that he can mix it at elite level and that he can also take a shot. That fight will do him the world of good moving forward. I also liked that he didn't want to pat himself on the back after losing. He'll be a champion one day with that mentality.

Fair do's I can see why you think that. I thought the fight was highly competitive through 9 rounds even though Yarde was losing most of the rounds. They were all close rounds and he took Kovalev into deep waters. He was also taken into deep waters himself like.

Kovalev is a top quality operator and Yarde did himself justice I thought. The stream I watched it on had Bradley and Ward commentating on it and they called it perfectly early on that Yarde would tire himself out and that no sparring would cost him.

Kovalev isn't what he was. Stick him in with Beterbiev or Pascal and he gets schooled. Im fully behind him and hope he does step-up but guts and character don't make champions without talent behind it.

Canelo will batter Kovalev when they fight that's how aged he is. He's a cherry pick.
