Yeah it was a complete mismatch. Lomachenko is the fight for Garcia, hopefully it gets made after this. Garcia proved he's a tough, going 12 rounds with the champion 2 weights above his.

I hope they can make it happen, but I think they are contracted to different networks, which almost always kills off any hope of seeing these fights happen.

It's fucking pathetic that none of these networks are willing to work together. We end up with all the elite fighters fighting cannon fodder on PPV.

Good toe in the water at the weight, that. Maybe look for a Parker fight next, then someone a bit rangier, before his run at the belts, all going well. 

 

Im looking forward to tonight. Some good bouts on. Edwards's first defence - admittedly never watched Moreno, so can only go off what I’m reading, but I enjoy watching Edwards and feel he can and will get even better.

 

Keen to see how Buatsi fares in his British title match. Hoping he can get a few challenging rounds. Reckon Conroy will be game and he’s pretty tough.

 

And Lewis Ritson returns at super lightweight. Really like this lad, but still not sure how far he can go. There was no way he was going to be able to carry on as he did during his British title reign - was going to come unstuck at some point. Not really sure why he’s moved up. I hope he’s packed the extra weight on in muscle as his core physique never was solid, and he looked a bit fleshy against Patera. Will the power still stand at 140 as well? Okolie I have no interest in watching, at all.

 

Dont reckon I’ll be home in time for the early kick offs. This Jason Quigley meant to be half decent?

I am so out of touch with domestic boxing these days that I’ve only seen most of those guys box once and had no idea Ritson had even moved up. 

 

Hearn has absolutely murdered the sport in this country and he’s got designs on doing it in America now too.

Tonight's card is a bit better than usual from matchroom tonight but it's still not great, Eddie is just giving sky the bare minimum and running the contract down until it runs out and then DAZN will bring their streaming service to the UK.

Great selection there Lee. Night Train never gets the plaudits it deserves, tells the bleak story of Liston’s life very well.

 

You should also check out Journeymen by Mark Turley which brilliantly illustrates the lives of the less illustrious men who pad out every card. Fascinating stuff.

How the fuck does that Okolie get any sort of gig after stinking the place out and getting booed out of the ring on a regular basis? Apprently he used to work in McDonalds and needs to fuck off back there. He's less entertaining than syphilis. I'm assuming he's buying the tickets himself.

Like him or not he's beaten all his domestic rivals but I agree he's fucking horrible to watch.
