Report : Alexander Arnold fit for Newcastle clash

The mid part of the season is when you notice the teams who are willing to go that extra mile for success despite any adversity that may come their way.

Liverpool have earned their four point lead atop the Premier League table, despite picking up a number of injuries to members of their defensive setup in recent weeks.

Joe Gomez and Joel Matip are out of action until the new year with leg and collarbone injuries respectively, while Trent Alexander-Arnold picked up a foot injury in the frenetic last few minutes against Napoli.

But there is good news on the horizon with ESPN reporting that after missing the last two league games, Alexander-Arnold has returned to full training and is available for the clash against Newcastle on Boxing Day.

Nathaniel Clyne and James Milner have filled the breach admirably in the absence of the 20 year-old, but it is pleasing to see the English international fit again as he had just started to play some of his best Football of the season.

It remains to be seen if Jurgen Klopp decides to put Alexander-Arnold into the starting lineup for the clash at Anfield on Wednesday, or keep him in reserve for the key games that follow against Arsenal and Man City.

In a further boost, Naby Keita has been cleared of any major injury concerns after being in the wars against Wolves on Friday night.

The combative midfielder suffered a cut to his foot, and a blow to his ribs which forced the Guinea international off before the hour mark.

However, those knocks appear to be on the minor scale and Keita is also believed to be fit for selection for the Boxing Day clash.
