He’s won precisely fuck all. Perfect for them.

This. He'll pose absolutely no danger to our current dominance and will demand a big budget and a long contract.

He's also not used to anywhere near the pressure he'll be under, and won't command the respect of the proven winners they need to get them back to where they want to be.

The fact that Pochettino has never actually won anything will be brought up all the time if he gets the job there and goes even 12 months there without a trophy. Remember all the shite about Jurgen losing finals, despite the fact that he'd won two titles and more against the odds in Germany?

With the squad he had at Spurs and the upheaval at a lot of bigger clubs during that time, he should at least have won an FA Cup or a league cup. They made Leicester's league win even more of a stroll than it should have been at the time with their implosion in the final few weeks.

He is a good manager, but the whole thing just smacks of pure mancs. I doubt there's any exhaustive dossiers being drawn up of the top 10 coaches in the world with their various pros and cons, it'll be "who can we feed the fans to stop them coming to my house again with pitch forks". If you said to your average bloke in a pub "who'd be  good manager for the mancs" they'd say him, purely because they remember his name and he did a decent job at spurs.

It's like the mancs' Sancho interest which never materialised, ask a random fan who's a good player and they'd say him, because they've seen him linked with all and sundry in the Daily Mirror and think he must be good, whereas we go and pick someone up from Wolves totally out of the blue and most rival fans didn't have a clue who he was.

When you look at it logically, how fucking damning is it when your biggest rival's fans are all wanting you to win just to keep your manager on. That on it's own should be the sign that you need to be ringing in the changes.

It's glorious, innit? It wasn't so long ago that I was giving myself gas endlessly parsing games between Man Utd and Arsenal, setting a want for the former to drop points in a title charge against a (usually futile) clash with the latter for a place in the top four. Last weekend, it was two bald men fighting over a comb. Still can't believe what Klopp has wrought.

I don’t get the fuss over Potchetino. I’ve always thought he’s performed at best ‘as expected’ Yes got top 4 but had a top 4 squad.

Their run to the CL final was ridiculously lucky given how they beat City because of a centimetre offside call which was more luck than judgement and that last second goal vs Ajax was a series of unfortunate events.

In the final they didn’t lay a glove on us. Genuinely wouldn’t give a shit if they got him.

The way their fans and ex players constantly ramble on about the current players’ effort and commitment and stuff is just comical.  There’s so many things wrong there it’s not going to be a quick fix but the number one thing is the manager.  He’s literally the worst manager in the league.  I’d even put him below Parker.

Everyone getting up Keane’s arse about his comments sum up the problem with Solskjaer as he’s from the same era of football.  It’s moved on.  Even if you had the best 11 players in the world if you just send them out there with the “figure it outs for yourselves” type tactics that dominated his era they would not be competing at all.  The league is now full of managers and teams that cover every circumstance and train specific patterns of play to control games and create changes against well drilled defences.  What happened with Matic and Demba Ba shows up how little training they’re actually doing although you can also see examples every game all over the pitch.

If they get Poch that’s the first thing sorted.  Dealing with some of the shocking buys their various previous managers have made us the next.  They’ve got about 5 elephants in the room.  The main one being Fernandez.  He is a ball giving away machine and has been since the first game he played.  They’re deluding themselves into thinking it’s just recently and that the pens weren’t covering it up.  You cannot be a consistent team with a player like that starting.  Then you’ve got Wan Bissaka at 50m.  You wouldn’t get half that back for him but he’s another player you can’t play every game if you’re any to break teams down.  Maguire, Pogba, Van de Beek and any of their other woeful centre backs don’t really need to be explained.

It is actually amazing how much people love Keane as a personality. The guy is an absolute parody. The fact he can't bring himself to criticize Ole and it's always about the players quitting on him is laughable, it's so biased. And people eat it up because his shtick is so over the top and they like his inane ranting. It's great for rival fans to have this idiot in our corner, vouching for Ole because they're friends.

Pochettino will be the first manager they have had since Ferguson that knew what he was doing and had a long term plan to go with it. He may not have won anything at Tottenham but the progress he achieved there was top notch. His team worked their bollox off and knew what they were doing, utd don't do either now. Give Pochettino that squad and the budget he will inevitably get and he will turn team around.

If the game against Everton is to be his last at the wheel, it would only be fair that he should sign off with a thumping victory and show them what they'd be missing. To out-tactic a triple European Cup winner would be great boost for his CV.

That result would have other benefits as well, but I can't quite put my finger on what exactly, right now.

Hes excellent at failure.

This sort of stuff is just nonsense.  He was at a club that’s in a similar boat as us.  Competing against clubs who’ve got either infinite money, a shitload of money and in their specific case a club with Klopp in charge of them.  They don’t have the historic draw we do either.

It’s the exact sort of reasoning that’s got United in the state they are in.  Hiring Van Gaal and Mourinho because they’re winners.  It’s just complete shit.  He’s driving a Ford Escort in an F1 race yet you get people coming out with shit like this when he manages to get them to a champions league final but get beat.  He’s a good manager and he will prove it when he takes over one of these clubs he was struggling to compete against.  If you can’t see that then you’re as blind as the manc fans who continually back this complete imbecile.

Never ceases to amaze me the people who write off Pochettino. Yeah, he's won nothing. Spurs were his first 'big' club and not only did he completely change the club into challengers, he also improved Southampton substantially.

Im not for one moment saying he's winning the title or CL as soon as became manager at united if he went there but, he would make them a far more organised and competitive outfit that solskjaer would while he has a hole in his arse.

Myself, I hope solskjaer stays at united for another couple of years but that hope diminishes with every 'poor' result his team gets.

Getting a bit tired with the fake news about Ole.

United lost to Arsenal because of a penalty - this doesn't count. They lost to the Turks because of pace goals and because they are focused on Everton. Let us not forget that Ole has guided them to two massive wins and they are pretty much through now in Europe. The Crystal Palace result was because they didn't get a pre season. The only loss that counts is Tottenham. Think Ole could accept that, but it might have been different if Martial hadn't been sent off.

United need to give him time.

United fans who dont give Ole time don't understand United. It takes time to build a team Ferguson would of been removed before his success if it was left to those traitors. It took Ferguson to build the most expensive side in British history to get that first title, they need Ole to be given the same funds and same time.

Pochettino is exactly what they need he’s eager to impress and finally win something, he has shown he can improve players, has a tactical style and is known for his attention to detail that will give them the edge. Something that ole doesn’t seem to bother with at all.

id much prefer they go down the Tuchel / allegri route as they are unknown quantities in the PL and are a gamble. Pochettino is much less so.

the only thing is if pochettino does come in and doesn’t turn it around quickly the fans and media will be on his back.

Trevor Sinclair is probably the thickest pundit out there which is some achievement.

Saying on Talkshite that Pochettino is too cautious and that Man Utd would be better tempting Simeone from Atletico Madrid because he fits in with their history of attacking football with flair.

They'll surely come good again eventually. During our barren spell I don't ever remember us spending anywhere near the cash they do relative to the era. That's why I'm enjoying it while I lasts but even if they do come good, they won't have a sustained period of dominance like they had in the Ferguson days.
