His central argument seems to be that any manager who gets enough time will be a success. Hope he gets every opportunity to prove this thesis.

Infinite monkeys on infinite typewriters. Although now that I think about, Peter Reid would make a better fist of things.

United won't give him time unfortunately. He'll be gone in the summer. I'd be amazed if they weren't already in discussions with Pochettino about taking over next season.

Marveaux was quality. If I was on the forum at the time, he would've been one of my guys.

Didn't he join Newcastle and flop?

38 appearances in 5 seasons. One goal.

That's a fantastic piece of writing.

Liew is very good. The best sports writer out there for me. Hopefully he stays with The Guardian rather than taking coin from the Athletic.

I really hope he chases the tortuous analogy of rebuilding a house to the point of insanity.

November 19th 2020: After a cup loss to Oxford Utd, the interviewer was nonplussed by Ole's response to a question about Phil Jones' last minute own goal. He remained upbeat, staring into the middle distance, a smile on his face, mumbling "some times drains crack, and the council are slow to repair them, but we wanted to lower the kerb for a wider driveway anyway."

He then walked shoeless out of the room, to drive to Dundee.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is currently facing the press ahead of Manchester United’s FA Cup trip to Tranmere Rovers.

And the under-pressure Red Devils boss has called for patience and insists he needs time to turn things around, citing Jurgen Klopp’s example at Liverpool.

Solskjaer on turning things around: "Of course you can see other teams have done well. Jurgen spent four years building his team and they're doing well now, so of course - I've said so many times - it's not gonna be a quick fix"

He's definitely their Klopp. They can't risk missing out on a home grown Klopp of their own. Contract extension, raise and keys to the stadium, NOW. Give him all of the moneyz aswell. Let him lump the club with ridiculous debt and pay all of the players £600k a week. He is worth it. He will prevail. He's at the wheel. He's doing his thing man.

Like they'll be arsed. You've still paid for your ticket.

What exactly are they protesting against, lack of spending?

Darren Fletcher has just destroyed him on 5 Live.

Said his prezzer today was bizarre. Banging in about not being able to bring in 8 to 10 players in one window, and knocking down the whole house to build foundations. Aside from a touch of the Cantonas, he’s virtually saying to the current squad that he wants them all gone, so why would they play for him.

Fletcher was saying Utd need strong leadership and he comes across as weak, lost, and like a rabbit in headlights.

Absolutely imperative the fans continue to get behind him.
