Amen brother.

The beauty of it is that the fans are actually their biggest flaw and are uniquely ill-equipped to deal with what's going on.

By that I mean, and I doubt many people who know football would dispute this, firstly because of Munich, secondly because of good PR and thirdly because of their success in the 90s, the mancs attracted a lot of people who wouldn't otherwise like or understand football.

They're often from towns with a shit team or no team, Morecombe or Leigh or some shit.

If you don't have much going on in your life, then being a fan of a successful team becomes one of the few things you can crow about.

If you listen to them talk or sing, or encounter them in a pub in numbers, all their talk and banter is about derision of opponents, even much smaller clubs. It's never about exalting their own success purely for the joy of it. It's never WE won, it's YOU lost.

Now, take that away and see what it does to someone. Not only can't they beat you around the head with it, they're actually ashamed and personally affronted by the club's shitness because it's deprived them of the one thing that made them feel good.

Because of this, they can't take simple joys in following their club. If you look at other clubs that used to be successful, Leeds, Forest, even Newcastle, they'll still pack out the stadium. Fans will still take their pleasures where they can, either from a cult signing or a good win or cup run. They're just enjoying footy, even if it's not always great.

For the mancs though, that's not good enough. They demand the right to be good enough to spit on people. The rage means the club can't make any longterm, strategic decisions.

They fly planes overhead and march on people's houses. In a desperate effort to placate, the board gives them what they want. The wrong player in the wrong position, purely because he's a name, the wrong manager purely because he's an old boy. And again it goes on and on.

The mancs are like a past it rock star or actor, coked up to the eyeballs and doing constant laps of the living room with their gun, giving foul mouthed tirades to their agent because they can't get a gig.

It's wonderful stuff.

This is a good point.

I do know a few United fans who just enjoy their success and supporting their team, and inn sure there are plenty like that, but it was noticeable in the early 90’s how much of it was about winding us up immediately rather than enjoying winning stuff.

The older mancs I know are like that, traditional footy fans who'll often given credit where it's due, the 90s and later era mancs I've met though have been gobshites when it comes to footy, generally didn't seem to know much about the game, either its history or what was going on in other leagues, they just enjoyed saying stuff like "the dippers".

The club tends to appeal to people from the scouse hinterland like warrington and Chester who've had their heads kicked in or their birds stolen by a scouser at some point and tends to go hand in hand with anti scouse sentiment in general as opposed to pure footballing rivalry.

When you're like that, imagine when someone takes that away from you? All you had was "your club" as a tool to browbeat people with, but now they're not good enough, and unlike other fans you can't content yourself with simply watching them play and hoping they win, but being happy if you're at least entertained or a favoured player has a good game. Tis an empty sporting life and probably time to pick an NFL team. A good one, ideally, else what's the point?

They've become more and more nasty as well, they never shut up about Heysel now. They are almost Evertonians.

They've ripped us for years. Even when we won the cup treble in 2001 it wasn't proper trophies and just kept going on about winning the league.

Now that we won the league it's "come back when you've won 13 Premier Leagues". The thick twats then sing that they've won the league 20 times.

They'll still panic if we get to 20 and probably loads will give up if we overtake them because it's the only thing they have over us that will get taken away.

There have only been 2 actual Mancs I've worked with who were from Manchester. The rest were from Wigan, Runcorn, Widnes, St. Helen's, Newton Le Willows, Torquay and Glasgow. The fella from Glasgow was 52 and had never even been on the Old Trafford stadium tour yet always used to give Liverpool fans shit if we lost.

As someone from leigh I'd say about 45% are united fans. Probably 35% are Liverpool fans though. The rest is split between Bolton, Everton City ect.

They've been somewhat quieter for a few years now

Harrumph.

Manchester United remain firmly behind Ole Gunnar Solskjær, and the club’s hierarchy are confident his record as manager shows the side are on an upward trajectory.

There is a strong belief that despite crashing out of the Champions League on Tuesday at RB Leipzig, United can mount a title challenge this season. The executive are disappointed to be in the Europa League, but Solskjær’s win ratio and ongoing rebuilding of the squad, which has impressed them, mean he retains their support.

It is seen as significant that when United host Manchester City in Saturday’s derby they will be only five points behind the joint leaders, Tottenham and Liverpool, with a match in hand and that the club remains in contention in four trophies.

The manager’s recruitment of Bruno Fernandes in February is regarded as a catalyst: since then United are second only to Liverpool for points won. After 10 Premier League matches this season United’s 19 points and 19 goals is better than the 13 points and 13 goals last term, when they finished third.

There is also no desire from the club to feed the perception of a cycle of hiring and firing managers since Sir Alex Ferguson departed in 2013, with the imbalanced squads and wider lack of identity it is believed to cause.

In any case, the club believe there are growing indications the team can compete for a 21st league title and other trophies under Solskjær. His rebuilding job so far is considered by the club to have given the squad the requisite character plus the desired blend of academy graduates – personified by Mason Greenwood – with recruitment of established players such as Fernandes and Edinson Cavani. There is a belief the team have the identity that was lacking under David Moyes, Louis van Gaal and José Mourinho.

Of his predecessors in that post-Ferguson era Solskjær’s 56% win ratio from 108 matches in all competitions (60 victories) is second only to Mourinho’s 58% from 144 matches (84), with Moyes’s 53% placing him third (27 from 51) and Van Gaal last on 52% (54, 103).

The United hierarchy are also conscious of how Solskjær’s record compares with managers at the club’s direct rivals. His win ratio is inferior to the 61% of Liverpool’s Jürgen Klopp and 72% of City’s Pep Guardiola but better than that of Arsenal’s Mikel Arteta (55%), Chelsea’s Frank Lampard (54%) and Tottenham’s Mourinho (53%).

After 108 games Klopp, who has since led Liverpool to the Champions League, Club World Cup and Premier League, had a 50% win return, 6% less than Solskjær’s.

Since Solskjær’s first game in charge in December 2018 his record places him some way behind Klopp’s 73 victories from 104 games and Guardiola’s 81 from 110 over the same period.

Strong United backing for Solskjær does not mean unconditional support and results will continue to be monitored. After City, United play Sheffield United, Leeds, Everton (in a Carabao Cup quarter-final), Leicester and Wolves before the end of the year, and there is confidence the manager can embark on an impressive run.

The greatest thing that people can do in the goblin's cause is to compare his record to Klopp's when he joined. It's like they're equating the abilities of the 2 managers. Do a quick poll, how many big clubs across Europe would swap Jurgen for their current manager and how many would swap Ole. That in itself would tell you all you need to know.

Still, keep writing those sunshine articles, anything to keep him there.

This! I love it how they constantly go on about solskjaer's record over the first 100 games being equitable \ better than Klopp depending who you read.

They totally ignore that the team solskjaer inherited finished 2nd the previous season under mourinho while Jurgen inherited a team that finished 8th. Yeah, not much difference in the quality of the squads there.

And if you look behind the figures, Jurgen has completely revised the culture and backroom staff at the club beyond 100 games. What has solskjaer done at united?

I dont think there's a club anywhere in Europe, even Norway, that would take solskjaer over Klopp if they had the chance.

It is brilliant the way so many of them are blind to how shit he is and how much money he has been given yet it's always the owners who get moaned at.

If they miss out on the top 4 and they sack him I bet a new manager gets more money than Klopp had. Also, it will be given without selling any of their best players. The whiny fans will demand all sorts of top signings to take their perceived rightful place at the top of the league back.

Like arsenal fans moan about their owners but they sanctioned a £72m transfer whilst being out of the Champions League for 2 years.

Fucks sake DT leave that shit out, they might be lurking and realise the truth........

..........we're all scared of what Olè's team are becoming, similar record to Klopp after a 100 games. Remember he was taking over from Mourinho who had barely spent a penny the whole time he was there. Olè is working miracles considering his working conditions.

I understand a lot of these pundits are his mates but I don't see how they can blame the board with a straight face, the guy's spent huge sums of money and virtually all of his buys have been shite or from the wrong position. They've got no system or style at all and their one tactic seems to be to get pens so Fernandez can score. Long may it continue.

And there’s the rub. There has never been a day where any club, other than Man Utd, would choose Solksjaer over Klopp as their manager.
When the goblin took his first management job Jurgen already had his first Bundesliga title. By the time he went to Cardiff to oversee their relegation, Klopp had two of them plus a Champions League final under his belt. And since then the gap has only widened.
He was always a bad appointment.
