That’s the thing with Gerrard though, and same with Klopp - they’re their own men. They will learn and watch, but they forge their own paths.

Ignoring results, what kind of style do stevies teams play, I don't watch any Scottish football so I've got no idea.

Linders is one of the most progressive exciting minds in football today.

He seems like a great coach but the way he talks in these press conferences or whenever he's interviewed irks me a little. He has a bit of an inauthentic, philosophical or business-speak style. It remains to be seen, but he doesn't strike me as big club manager material.

This. And to be a good manager, you obviously have to be your own man, with your own ideas and way of doing things. Trying to copy someone else will rarely work, I’d say it’s exactly that Solskjaer is trying to do and he’s about as poor a copy of Ferguson as you could imagine.

Klopp is a unique manager, like Gerrard was a unique player. To be in contention to be a future manager here, Gerrard would have to prove, or at least show clear signs, that he can develop into a unique manager. A manager who will not copy something of ten years ago, but will have his own new ideas, be ahead of his time and ahead of the general development in football when it comes to tactics, training, nutrition and a number of other things. Klopp of course is no expert in all these areas, but he knew that he had to bring in the very best people available in all these areas. He brought clear ideas, his own, of how to develop not only the team but the entire club. Maybe Gerrard can do the same one day, but I really don’t see any clear inducations that he can, and having been a great player certainly doesnt prove he can.

I’m not sure mate. I follow his progress in terms of results like you, but I’ve never sat through a game.

It's an exciting mix of the innovation of Hodgson, with a dash of Rafa's flair backed up by the defensive steel of a Rodgers side. Heady stuff.

Lets see how bringing back star players as manager progresses with OGS and Fwank and I think we will have some insight as to what may happen under Gerrard.  As well as clear vision great communication/ interpersonal skills are required . It also helps if a dash of charisma is thrown into the mix. Having a great career on the pitch is nowhere near the top of the list of qualities required.

If United get Sarr instead of Sancho I will laugh so hard my rectum will prolapse. It would be like going in for a Bentely and coming out with a 1992 Ford Escort. If they then start saying they prefer Sarr anyway I might not be able to breathe.

I can see why they'd want Sancho, but would sarr get in their side? It would be this windows equivalent on signing Ingahlo except it would cost a fortune.

Bit harsh wishing Sarr on them with Covid still prevalent isn't it?

Oh wait, Mancs, yeah, Fuck 'em.

Looks like Sancho is heading there, the most manc transfer imaginable. Decent player who's flavour of the month (wouldn't have ousted any of our attackers) and 110% not what they need anyway. They've got the worst centre back paring in the league and a goalie who's turning into mister mcgoo. No system or way of playing to speak of either. These are the moments you need oli to stay at the wheel, goodbye 110 mil, hello heartbreak.

Solsjkaer's genius answer to any problem is throw another attacking player at it. If his fridge breaks he phones Mino Raiola and asks if he has any fast strikers who could leather it with footballs for a mere £90M. He's like a replicant of Ferguson's afterbirth and should be a Viz cartoon about a man wed to the 1990s.

Someone had better tell Reus. From what I gather, Man Utd are said to be preparing another bid but Dortmund continue to take the position that the possibility of him leaving in this window ended on August 10th.
