I've just remembered that Phil Jones has a Manchester United contract until June 2023. There's an option for a further year. Fantastic.

There in lies the biggest problem. Any and I mean any football supporter sitting opposite Jones and his agent at renewal time would have had a field day of a performance review.  Tell you what whatever blagging the agent did he earned his percentage big time.

It would be madness letting a talent like Phil Jones leave as he enters his prime.

At one point last night Jones couldn't get his tired fat arse (well not literally fat, looks like he's more interested in building up his arms than stamina) off the ground so just barged into the attacker and obviously gave away a free kick, it wasn't the only similar incident either. he's fucking shite, and Maguire is well on the way to joining him, his attempt to get back at Wood for Burnley's opener was embarrassing.

It would ensure a steady flow of money and owners that might just give a fuck about returning to their glory years by being more hands on and making sure the hierarchy are competent. For want of a phrase 'savvy business people.'

How lucky were we that FSG were on the sidelines ready to pounce when the H and G s bluff was called. Think we were so elated the two tossers were gone we didnt realise at that time how we potentially had savvy business people as owners.

In 2019 they signed Phil Jones to a new contract. In 2019.

He stopped being a promising or even solid squad player 6 years ago.

I think you'll find he is one of their senior players and sets an example to the squad of what it means to be a Manchester United player.

Indeed, as long as they keep investing in the squad when needed and backing Klopp. To an extent Klopp has worked wonders and gets way more credit for the clubs fortunes than FSG, imo of course.

Aye don't really get we deliberately sold Cout to buy Virgil and Allison . Think we were buying them or at least Virgil anyway.  Just got lucky Barca were desperate and Jürgen went for quality rather than quantity.

We've been extremely good in the transfer market under Klopp's tenure, not just in who we have bought but the money we have received for outgoing players. Coutinho sticks out like a sore thumb, but the money we have gotten back for others, especially from Bournemouth is ridiculously good.

It's all gone a bit this for them:

(Edited to say that it's a bit harsh on Shelvey, Skrtel, Aurelio and Babel)

If we're going off years since winning the league, then they're currently at this stage.

In fact you could easily say we have the better team there.

Know about the debates but did anyone think they would end up the way they have conducted business ? Think the feeling was all American ownership was via leveraged buyouts and were bad for PL clubs. Here I would have taken that Hong Kong apparent Billlionaire over H and G can't remember his name . Mad mad times remember when Michael Knighton nearly pocketed utd for 20 mil or something like that.

Berger? Fowler? McManaman? Collymore? Barnes? That is an infinitely more talented squad than what United have got now. Their squad is basically chock full of Harkness/Babb/McAteer level players at best. Half of their players now are barely even regular internationals.
