Van der Vaart doesn't really rate slab head.

Basically, he says he can see 3 better defenders walking through the park on a Sunday and if he's worth what Manchester United paid then Big Virg must be worth at least 300 million.

Does anyone outside of England rate shite defenders that are always out of position, looks great when they make them last gasp tackles,  never mind the fact they shouldn't have had to make it in the first place.

Ralf Rangnick is mediocre at best. He was dog shit in his two stints at Schalke 04, he wasn't that good at Leipzig considering the amount of cash Red Bull were pumping into their pet project at the time. The only time he has looked decent as a manger was at Hoffenheim as they were in the lower leagues and also pumped a shit load of cash into the club. I'd laugh my arse off if the Mancs actually went for him.

He's director of football now at Leipzig isn't he, reporting into houllier?

Not exactly mate. He's employed by Red Bull and Leipzig is just a small part of the teams he covers as head of Sport and development.

I thought houllier did the over arching red bull sporting strategy and he was Leipzig specific in his role?

Edit... But obviously none of them are employed by clubs as it's the same hooky system city use to keep people off the payroll got ffp.

He spends his time between all their clubs as far as football goes mate. I believe his role is a talent finding one at the various clubs including the teams they play against, kind of a glorified scout TBH.

Oh right, I didn't realise it was like that.

Shit player, mediocre manager-shit, maybes his talent lies in scouting, although so far he's failed at that as well. He's kind of the Bundesliga's Sam Allardyce if you like, always getting a gig but not that good at it.

Sounds like he'd for right in at Salford then.

It's why I would laugh my bollocks off if they are actually interested in him. Maybe's they are trying to pave the way to signing players on the cheap from the various Red Bull projects. As I've said though, RR has hardly unearthed any gems. You only have to look at the amount of clubs he has actually managed and the fact he has a large spell away from the game to realise he is exactly like one of the LMA managers, good in the championship but shit at the next level.

I'm still waiting for Wolfgang Wolfe's return to Wolfsburg.

Hahahaha. I think he's a Sports director at some lowly club now, not been in management for years.

I was gonna say that he got Schalke to a Champions League semi final, but he only took the job a few weeks before the quarter final against that aging post-Mourinho Inter side full of players who were playing for themselves. In the semis against the Mancs, they did fuck-all apart from Neuer in goal who prevented a cricket score.

Besides, I doubt they would want him as coach. They've been trying to appoint a director of football for a couple of years now. I think they should keep it in-house and appoint Gary Neville, having him work alongside Ewar Woowar. The United Way.
