Am I ok to eat a Scotch egg on the Kop? Where do we stand on crumpets?

It will open a whole can of spaghetti this one.

I’m debating whether or not it’s ok to eat a Cornish pastie, maybe some Welsh rarebit?

whatever happened to Ben Woodburn anyway?

I hate the phrase "we're Scouse not English."

I say this as someone who was born in Liverpool and have spent my whole life here. At the same time I have no particular thought either way of being English (whatever that is supposed to entail).

Apart from all that I don't know why anyone would go to the effort of bringing a union jack or England flag to the match.

Anglo-Scottish-Irish is a bit of a mouth full (ooerr missus) so British will do for me. As for the Union Jack, like everything else its been hijacked by the people who are so stupid and insecure about their own heritage that its better to distance ourselves from it.

I can't stand Irish flags in Anfield. I feel like going over to people* and saying "lads [gender neutral term in Ireland], can you leave the tricolours at home? We're here supporting Liverpool". What other nationalities get up to is up to them.

*I never would say it, but the feeling remains.
