But they're not the team in Manchester we need to be better than.

They were yesterday, pal.

we only need to be better than Man City once more this season.

The rest of the time we have to be better than teams that are nowhere near as good as them, and not as good as us either.

Yesterday is done and dusted, the next game is the important one.

Clyne was decent. He wasn’t great for me. He mistimed two slide tackles which could’ve been costly, and his delivery was poor compared to Trent. However, he was good in general defensively, and it was encouraging to see his energy going up and down the right flank.

In the context of somebody who has played even less than Lallana over the last 18 months, I thought he was really solid. TAA is our best player in the position, but it's good to have a deputy ready.

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha. Weapon.

An insight into the mind of Duncan Castles as Manchester United unravelled at Anfield…

4.25pm: ‘Fabinho has been trying those little chip balls into the area all game. Finally finds a taker in Sadio Mane. #LIVMUN #BRA

4.34pm: ‘Alisson Becker: ‘Best goalkeeper in the world’. #LIVMUN

4.40pm: ‘Clever little adjustment from Jesse Lingard to lift the ball over Alisson in response to the goalkeeper’s error and score. #LIVMUN#ENG

4.43pm: ‘Clear yellow-card foul from Roberto Firmino to bring down Marcus Rashford on the counterattack. Same intention as the one Diogo Dalot was booked for earlier, but more physical. Referee lets him off. #LIVMUN

5.09pm: ‘Sadio Mane dives in studs up on Ashley Young as the full back is making a pass. Referee gives nothing. Three minutes later Herrera fails to reach ball and Salah – as he regularly does – hits the deck. Referee gives a foul in a dangerous area. #LIVMUN

5.14pm: ‘Jurgen Klopp has been intelligent in schooling his players to play on the edge of English football’s lenient interpretation of the rules. How often do Liverpool win possession off the back of challenges that would not be accepted elsewhere? #LIVMUN

5.25pm: ‘And now Martin Atkinson is gegenpressing for Liverpool.’

5.33pm: ‘Significant amount of good fortune that it found the net via woodwork and a spinning deflection off Ashley Young, but a smart ball from Sadio Mane and a good strike from Xherdan Shaqiri. #LIVMUN

5.54pm: ‘At the fifth attempt, Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool finally defeats Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United. #LIVMUN

They wuz robbed.

TAA's delivery has been shite this year, Clyne was fine - good to have him back

I love both Trent and Robbo but think their delivery is vastly overrated by people. They both put some great balls in but waste a fair few too. Happy with both but there is room for improvement in boths final ball

Robbo often has made a deeper run and is looking to either knock it across the goal or cut it back - on the ground many times.

TBF that is alot more difficult - he has put it on a platter a number of times this season - yesterday it looked like there were a couple that he will not have been happy with.

I think when TAA came into the side he was doing a little better -- most of his are truly crosses though - often from deeper and almost always trying to play it to someone's head. He may have started to believe his own good press though as he has not been nearly as good with his delivery, from set pieces or from open play.

Seen the craziest stat on the BBC.  Allison has made 2 errors leading to goals this season, the same apparently as Mig and Karios combined in the whole of last season.  So we should disregard the world class saves and the dominance and sheer aura of the man and admit he's not as good as the other 2!

Karius made two mistakes that led to goals in one match, what are they smoking over at the BBC?

Yeah what the stats rack up to mistakes is bollocks. Karius fuck up twice against Real. Multiple times in other games and not always punished. Karius made one yesterday and got fucked over against Leicester where he got fouled

Fuck, no wonder we conceded on Sunday!
