Six pages already and the game is still 36 hours away.

It's great that this match means so much, not only historically but also in terms of maintaining a great start to the season.

In a way it's the ultimate test for this Klopp team. Virtually any opponent in Europe leaving Anfield with a point would be content with the result.

From Mourinho's point of view, there is no onus to come out and push for a win. And he is the most accomplished manager with the highest quality of players that play in a style that has negated Klopp's Liverpool consistently.

It could be a match where Keita finally 'arrives' as a Liverpool player.

It is, but the only thing that would worry me is Lovren getting dragged out of position again by Lukaku leaving space behind for Rashford. If he can be more disciplined, then fine.

The thing about Lovren is even though he’s a good player and I like that he’s very aggressive, but he backs himself a bit too much, sometimes when he shouldn’t, like against Lukaku who’s the size of a house and strong as an ox. I hope Virgil takes leadership and tell Lovren that he’ll take care of him, because I think in a physical battle, Virgil is probably the only centre half in the world who could match him.

The weird thing is that everyone is expecting this game to be then setting up to defend 100% and this is definitely most likely. But earlier in the season when they played City they actually surprised everyone by attacking City more than was expected.

I wouldn't be surprised if something similar happens, however it's unlikely they will come out all guns blazing. Just make it known they are not there just to defend.

Either way, a win as you say would be a real message to the rest of this League - we are here for the long haul and would build even more momentum and confidence. A defeat - although not necessarily the end of the challenge at all - may just dent that momentum and confidence a little.

Be ruthless, relentless and remorseless, hit first, hit hard and keep on hitting.

Time for anyone of Shaq, Keita and Fab to announce their arrival fully to the Premier League and the world.

An early goal will make a mockery of their negative football plan and will quickly be followed by two more before the 20 min mark.

A rout, a rout I tell you!

Love that aRdja has managed to reference Ox in a post about Lovren just to annoy Grinch.

You know, I don't care that it's them; not this time. I normally just want to win. I want to beat them. This time, I don't give a fuck that it's Manchester United. I care about the points and how we do it our run towards the title. This period is going to be massive for us. If we get the same or more points than City, we could do it. So that is, for me, the much bigger thing. No matter how much I hate them.

That'll go out the window mate 30 seconds in when 'Always the victim' gets an airing.

- Haven't beaten them in 8 in the league.

- They've approached most of those games like a plucky underdog, "they'll know they've been in a game" etc.

- We now play like a team that prefers to play against underdogs.

- Will it finally be enough to tilt the balance?

For me, since I got old, I care a lot less about 'hating' any team. I also don't like to be surrounded by hatred - from both sides.

I have 'halfs' on a season ticket and at the beginning of the season, when we are selecting which matches we willll each attend, I don't rush to pick Utd or Everton for those very reasons.

I am going tomorrow as it transpires, and its not easy to avoid getting sucked into the old ways - but I am just hoping the rivalry is used to influence us to sing our LFC songs louder and prouder - and in turn inspire the players to get three points. Which is really what we want.

Don’t find the hatred quite as intense at derby games. Maybe it’s because we always come out top.  Would always be my preference to go to one rather than the Man United fixture

I'd go with:

Alisson

Fabinho

Lovren

VVD

Robertson

Wijnaldum

Milner

Salah

Shaqiri

Mané

Firmino/Sturridge

We obviously want to beat these. And they'll come looking for a draw or a 1-0 win with a set piece goal. But, we can actually afford to lose the game. We'll only be 2 points behind City if we do, so I think we should abandon any caution and have a right go at them.

I'd even consider Sturridge over Firmino. It could be a game where we need something from outside the box or a bit of creativity. Shaqiri gives you the latter. Sturridge offers the former slightly more than Firmino. Plus, Firmino looked quite leggy when he came off against Napoli. I think he might need a rest. We can bring him and Henderson on to tighten things up if we're ahead after 60/70 minutes. We really need to make full use of the squad coming into this busy period of the season.

I think we'll beat them. And I'm convinced that Big Virgil is due a goal...
