Your 3 favourite players in the squad

1. Robertson - as well as undoubted talent he appears to have a genuine love for this club. Add the fact that he is a decent human being and i think he will be a club legend one day.

2. VVD - a leader of men. Leads by example and demands the same standards from those around him.

3. Gomez - insanely talented and the only one in our defence approaching VVD's class. Looks composed and assured on the ball and will only get better i think.

Re Sturridge, It’s hard to get a decent back-up striker. All teams bar Arsenal struggle with it. Even City.. Sturridge is twice the player Jesus currently is.

Sturridge is shite and not even half the player Jesus is. The only reason he is still here is that he is more brittle than a bag of broken biscuits and nobody will touch him (quite literally in some cases) because the wages he is on eclipse most players in the whole league. Utter madness, but Klopp is managing the situation very well.

Allison- drop dead gorgeous and I want to bum him.

Robbo - for his attitude, not to mention his quality

Salah - Obvious. If we could have last seasons Mo back, and it looks like we might be, we could actually win this fucking League. In the words of that deluded bitter twat off GOT. It seems mad even typing that.

I don’t know if you’re being serious or not. Jesus is dreadful. Article after article about him being really shit this season. So bad Pep still didn’t trust him to start a big game when Aguero was unavailable.

I actually love this team, so many likeable players, obviously Milner, Firmino, Sadio, Trent, Allison. I love Gini too, often underrated. I think Keita is going to be an absolute beast. But for me it's

Robertson -

Van Dijk

Joe Gomez - frightening how good he is at his age and how good he could be. Him and Van Dijk may be one of the best pairings ever.

Big Virg - every now and then we get a player whose very presence on the pitch makes you believe everything is possible and nothing is beyond our capability. If he makes me feel that way in the stands, fuck knows how it feels to play alongside him.

Bobby - everyone around him is a 10% better footballer when he is on song. Everyone. He even drags Moreno up to being 10.5% of a proper player. There are players who provide individual moments of brilliance that prove decisive in matches, but our Bob wins us footy matches by lifting everyone's level around him. I especially love how all his goal celebrations are absolutely half-baked random nonsense that he forgets half way through.

Mane - a very professional and diligent footballer who carries out his tactical work and defensive duties but also manages to play like he's a 14 year old with his mates back home. The goals away to Burnley and home to City last season where he's just like, 'Well, I should probably do the professional thing and lay it off to someone and recycle the ball, but I reckon I could deffo just lash it in the top corner with my left foot. Yeah, let's do that instead'.  Also, THAT goal at the Emirates is one of the best I've seen anyone in a Red shirt score.

Jesus would be quite useful to us. Sturridge isnt.

I can't even imagine Sturridge invited to watch a City training session, much less take part - forget about making the squad.

I disagree. Sturridge scores a goal every 130 mins. Jesus scores a goal every 180 mins even though City creates more/better chances than us. Those stats are publicly available. I watched the game against Watford too, and Jesus was woeful then. City would’ve won by 4 or 5 goals had Aguero played instead.

Can we confine the utterly meaningless, in isolation, statistics to just the 258 threads?

Maybe just start a thread for all of them "Tedious and clearly fucking wrong musings that can be backed up by context free stats".

1. Van Dijk - I've not seen a single player have such an impact on a club. Absolute colossus. Loved him at celtic and was in with the Van Dijk shouts a few years ago. Oozes style and panache. Best CB in the world.

2. Robertson - Would have got into any Shakily team. Getting better and better. Not a RW in the world will look forward to facing him. I actually couldn't pick a LB in the world who I would have over him. Big Celtic fan as well. Celtic. Andy Robbo.

3. Firmino - Tough to pick a 3rd as it could have been 1 of about 4 but Firming shades it. Arguably the most underrated player in world football. I fucking love the 20 regal a day looking motherfucker. I even loved his little porno cache he is sporting at the minute.
