Can somebody recommend me a good external hard drive?

I have a 500gb Mac Book pro I bought in 2012. It’s starting to show it’s age & is being a bit slow.

Ideally I’d like to move all my movies and photos off the Mac Book and onto an external device.

Not sure if I need 1TB or 2TB. I suppose 2TB would be better in the long run.

Can somebody recommend a good one please? One I ideally don’t have to do much with and is super easy to set up and transfer stuff over as I don’t really know what I’m doing wit it all.

Many thanks in advance.

Cheers.

Have you thought about doing some internal upgrades? I doubled the RAM and put in an SSD on the same model and mine runs everything fine. It’s not as complicated as it sounds, I just followed a couple of YouTube videos.
