Whats the genuine risk of bears mate? Is it classed as very unlikely but be cautious or "yeah one might get nosey just punch it i the face" ?

Keep a clean site and they won’t bother you.

So pack your food away in your car or hang it in a bear proof container in a tree, don’t burn paper plates with food on it in the campfire and leave nothing out.

It’s very rare a bear will track and attack you but it does happen occasionally. If I go hiking I carry bear spray. I’ve never encounter a bear in foot in the woods.

I have seen polar bears when I lived in Nunavut but from a safe distance.

Bear spray? If I'm camping in bear country I want an AW50 Sniper Rifle, a Colt M16A2 Assault Rifle and a Panzer division with me. Fucking bear spray.

I reckon you could take a polar bear in hand to hand combat, then laugh over it with a can of Heineken

If you don't think there's much chance of talking about the situation within reason, they reckon it's best to play dead and hopefully they'll go away, don't say shoo.

Isn't it true that the reason you're not supposed to turn your back on a bear is because they're too thick to know they're big? I think that's boss.

You never turn your back because if it’s a predatory bear it will charge after you, or a bear defending a food source it will chase after you.
