Feels an eternity since we played and seems like an eternity to this. Fuck the international break, but probably came at a good time for us. Given our fixtures and how we haven’t got out of 3rd gear yet we are fantastically placed, the virtues of solidity at the back are holding true.

 

Last season we spanked these twice with them barely mustering a shot. Remember a stat that Matip played the most passes of any Liverpool player in PL match in this fixture last season. I expect a similar pattern this time as well, I think a little too much has been made of us “not playing well”. We certainly haven’t been as fluid in attack but I imagine a lot of that has been tactical given the difficulty of our fixtures, however, we’ve been great against PSG, Chelsea, West Ham and Palace I think. This run of fixtures is far more generous and I expect us to really start clicking again. Mo appears a doubt, I’d bring in Shaqiri, go Alisson, Trent, Lovren, VVD, Robbo, Gini, Keita, Shaqiri, Mane, Sturridge, Firmino. 4-0 reds.

Apparently a broken thumb. Not sure if it's enough to keep him out but it can't be the best news.
