Sex Addiction

(Search function didn't work for me so apologies if there is already a thread)

I'm willing to bet I'm not the only sex addict on this forum. If you are struggling with this then you should know that you really aren't alone. There is help out there. There are plenty of Psychologists who now specialize in treating Sexual Addiction and there will be a Sexaholics\Sex Addicts Anonymous Group near you (at least in the UK) that meets on a regular basis. If you are suicidal or just want to chat with someone who can empathize then please seek out this group - it will help massively.

In the meantime, here's a really good video

And feel free to PM me for advice if you want to remain anonymous. All joking aside, this brings misery to many and often ends in suicide. I'd like to help if anyone needs it.

I don't know about anyone else but I'm interested to hear what Hades has to say about how SA is based on science and therefore make-believe.

Aren't you meant to be a self-help expert? Mocking somebody who doesn't agree with you is a bit shitty for someone in your profession is it not?

I'm only a professional from 9am-5pm.

Outside of those working hours, I can be analytical and subjective of opinions [of my field] that are based on no supporting evidence.

I wouldn't say it's shitty at all, if anything, I wish Hades all the best with his mental health.

It came across as shitty but fair enough, you have been very helpful to members on here and have taken the time to offer lots of advice but it doesn't work for a lot of people.

Anyway back to sexual addiction, fancy a shag?

See, I can understand the latter part. There are numerous variables to why that is and I could have explained that to Hades or yourself in detail - which is something I tried to do initially with Hades. For then to be greeted with mocking of my profession/industry is where I had to draw the line, many of those working in this industry see on avg. about 8-14 people a day. Each of those clients have to be risk assessed (that needs to hold up in court), assessed of their needs accurately which then provides a recovery score, a cancellation/DNA score and for anyone who doesn't recover an explaination of what happened and why. As a service, we need a recovery score of 50% to even exist. In addition, the stress/anxiety that places on the workforce in addition to other duties (e.g. speaking with GPs/making referrals to social services/other professionals, promotion of the service) is beyond what Hades described as 'piles of shit'.

I just wanted to explain that as I feel what many of you may feel looks like a pleasant job/service, is actually like sitting in a house on fire. Yet, despite that, many of us offer additional support out of our normal working hours (like I have on here). I do apologise if my comment above came across shitty but often comments can pull a chord and like any normal human, I may respond without care.

Definitely can't wank to that.

Keep up the good work seasons, you're not a bad guy.
