Chocolate Fudge Cake.

Cheesecake.

Honey Cake (definitely not British though).

There was a really nice Lemon one but can't remember it's name.

I'm not much of a cake historian so couldn't tell you which cakes were invented in Britain, I think she is saying the standard of cake wherever you might buy it, is always very high.

Turns out I'm a bit of a Cake 'tard though.

I live quite close to a very pretty town called Carmona. Their special local cake is..."English cake".

I reckon cakes is a good shout.

Fuck all wrong with Carrot Cake you cunt.

But agreed Remmie should leave her for the rest. And tell old bill why he left her.

Any cake that needs a vegetable in to make it better does not warrant to be entertained. Give your head a wobble and rethink your cake club membership, Janet.

On this, Stig is right. There are some amazing carrot cake recipes out there.

I’m thinking it’s not British in origin but has been assimilated on to the menus of all right thinking cafes

Send me a link to your recipe please

It’s one of the easiest recipes out there...

4oz soft butter

4oz caster sugar

6oz SR flour

2 large eggs

2 tablesp milk

grated rind of a lemon

All the ingredients go into a large bowl together.

Mix until combined and smooth

Bake in 2lb loaf tin

I use those parchment tin liners.

Bake at 160 fan, gas 4/5 for about 45 min

Once it’s baked prick the top of the cake all over with a fork and then brush over a thin icing made from 3 tablespoon icing sugar and 3 tablespoon lemon juice. It looks like a lot but it soon disappears into the cake.

Never fails
