Yeah, we had a pretty easy start, so it's not a shock it's been harder recently. With the exception of forest, for one reason or another, you feel we got teams at good times. That might not be ahead. City can't keep losing, they just have too many good players. Spurs are showing they can beat anyone. West Ham seem to have turned the corner. Newcastle are hit and miss, so who knows. The derby I don't think it matters, it's always tough and this is the last wooden derby, so they will be fucking wild. But we've shown we are more than capable in the tougher games. In fact I don't think we are playing any worse or looking in more danger against good teams as we are the supposed poorer sides. For me I am feeling it might be less about who we play, rather than if we don't do enough scoring (like forest) to mask our mediocre all round performance.

You think 84 points? I don't think that. I don't think Arsenal are done - in the reverse to us, they have a great run of games and are good flat track bullies. Maybe City will give up (like 19/20), it must be hard to keep that level of motivation after so many PL wins.

Elliot will be a bonus off the bench. I am not arsed about Jota being back, he'll just be injured again in a couple of weeks, as soon as we need him. Trent is a clear plus - but I expect our fans to give him a hard time if he's not signed up soon, he takes a lot of shit as it is, including in the ground. And Ali - I think we need him. Kelleher has done decent. I thought he should have done better with the goal from open play last week and I think we are starting to look less organised the longer he's there. But how long will he stay fit?

For me, City are the team to beat. They are winners (again I know I know). Arsenal have had the hardest start, but they have won fuck all. They got lucky in recent seasons with injuries and they got away with things they haven't recently from referees.

I expect us to drop a few points over the next two months and I do think the lead will be cut a bit, but we're in a lovely position.

The maximum Arsenal can get is 100, City 101. I think 84 points to win the league is a realistic amount. This isn't City of previous title races and Arsenal sure as hell aren't peak Jurgen's team from a few years back.

The way the fixture list is until way after Christmas the table could look completely different to how it looks now. It's mad. Weve bought ourselves a bit of slack that is all. Performance needs to improve, we need to be better at actually creating chances rather than waiting for a fuck up and I need to stop nit picking.

I think we've been better this year in terms of quality chances, aside from the weekend just gone obviously. We have the highest XG and lowest XG against so on paper we're actually doing really well in that regard. I think if we beat city we'll keep up the consistency and keep a nice gap between us and 2nd place.

I firmly believe if we win on Sunday we'll win it.

The thing is, we know there's a world, with a bit of luck going their way, city can win 20 on the bounce. Obviously it doesn't look like that right now. City are the most likely to push us, but I do think there might be a point where they just shrug and give it up and go for the CL.

Arsenal - you're right they've no history of winning and that makes it harder. But being so far behind will take a serious amount of pressure off over the next month and a half. If they close the gap a little between now and Jan, they'll be right in there.

I do think no matter what, it'll take more than 84 points. It's not looking like it'll need mid 90s, but again with city you never know.

I tend to agree, but as Barrington said it's game by game and Newcastle will be rough and then the blueshite will be nasty too.

I do think if we come through the next eight games with a very healthy points total, it's hard to see us being stopped.

Arsenal are definitely capable and are dangerous. We really need West Ham to take the wind out of their sails at the weekend.

City remind me of 19/20 - I actually think though this might be the end of a number of their team and at some point Pep may start trying a few of their youngsters, if they were a good bit behind us and were at the business end of the Champions League and guaranteed top 4.

Right now, either can win the league and Chelsea and Spurs are dangerous jokers in the pack - maybe a bit like us in 2014.

After looking at fixtures Brighton could be in and around second by New Year like Leicester were in 19/20. They have a good looking run of games.

Southampton (h)

Fulham (a)

Leicester (a)

Palace (h)

West Ham (a)

Brentford (h)

I like them, but definitely need them to fall away. They have played us, Newcastle, Chelsea and Arsenal away. Very good side.

The first 15-20 minutes on Sunday are going to be massive.  That's when we tend to start slow and City know that they need to make hay then or their entire season starts to look like it's over.  They have to try to batter us from the start.

If they haven't scored within 20 minutes and if we get on the front foot we should end their title aspirations there and then.

They'll do what they did in 2018, the 0-0 draw when they missed a late penalty. Play it really safe and try to hit us on the break.

How far behind were they then? It's tough to be 8 points behind..but they definitely can't afford to lose the game and be 11. It's funny, they don't look equipped to 0-0 anyone. But I suspect if they say deep and didn't fuck up, we could need a set piece and we are vulnerable on the counter at times as Southampton and others have shown.

October 2018 we were on same points after the game

I think it could either be a cagey affair or if we score early and smell blood I think we could batter them, seen it before where the crowd really get to them…..the 3-0 CL game you could see they all shit themselves, id love a repeat of that on Sunday but that being said regardless of a bad run they are elite and a class team so we need to be on it because if we start slow and become sloppy they will punish us.

I'll take any win on Sunday. They're in terrible form, look very vulnerable and will be low on confidence, but they're still City, they've still got loads of quality players and a manager who can come up with a tactical plan to beat anyone.

I'm expecting a really tough game, but if we get on top early it's possible we could run all over them. It's more likely to be a really close one though, so any win will do.

We don't play the way people want us to play though. If it was Klopp, we'd absolutely get after them and run all over them but Slot does not set us up like that. Which I think is a shame for this game, because at Anfield with the crowd behind us we should just go for them

I'll take any win tbh, but like Dave u just said, they are still man city, have quality players and a top manager.

What I dont want is for us to play like Arsenal last season, and be happy with the draw. Don't play like pussys, go for the fucking win and try and knock them out the title race. If it doesn't work it doesn't work but big teams try and land a knock out blow when they have the chance. Take the opportunity with both hands or die trying at least.

Bit of a chicken and egg thing in recent games, we play cagey and the crowd is subdued, the crowd suddenly gets up for it and the team suddenly starts playing fast attacking football.

I reckon it's going to be a huge occasion, crowd up for it from the off and the team will follow suit.

We haven't tried to play for a draw yet and I can't see us starting next week.
