Man City - the new bitters?

We all knew all this would happen...will be same but even worse with the 115+

Their owners will not in any way accept any sort of "loss" and always claim victory regardless...it is culturally with who they are the only way they know.

They are literally tearing football in this country apart now and it is going to get worse until their will is bent to.

The PL are as guilty as man city, they've left it go unchecked for almost 15 years, first with Chelsea then man city, they let the wolves in due to to pure greed at the time, now they are getting bitten by the entities they enabled. Football will go the way of LIV golf in about 10 years, they've already laid the groundwork and money talks.

And Newcastle when the Tories and PL got bullied into accepting the offer from Saudi.

I don't know why people are surprised or why people would be "done" with football.

The way football has functioned financially is precisely the reason why clubs like City can probably get away with doing what they want. Football has always had way too little regulation and been grossly unequal, and most people were absolutely fine with that and on top of that, people would have been aghast at footy trying to become more like American sports.

This is the one thing I don't really blame Everton for. They are perpetual fuckups as a club but if I was an Everton fan, or of a similar size club, I would constantly be asking why is it that we can't do what we can to get richer in this ridiculously stupid almost free market that is football.

Gonna save Dave a few key presses for this week's diary:

Quote

Then you have that fat smelly piece of filth Martin Samuel writing his propaganda pieces. Shameless fat cunt. His son works for City, so no conflict of interest there eh, Bluto? He’s the worst man in football journalism him. Even worse than those at the S*n. Absolute lowlife. No credibility at all.

You're welcome.

What I don't fully understand is what do City get by trying to aggressively influence media perception of the arbitration decisions.

Millions of thickos thinking they’re hard done by.  All part of the image washing.

Is there anybody thinking that, outside of their fan base? They are just further antagonizing the PL and come across as even more arrogant, if that is even possible.

I think most people get their take on the news from the media.  Most of the media coverage I saw yesterday either said this is a win for City or that both sides were partially successful.  I have seen more thoughtful analysis today but the lie is already out there.

It's definitely a plan, get it out there first, we won, the rules are unfair and unlawful. That way if they fail in the big one sure they're only guilty of breaching rules that are unfair and unlawful.

the worst part is they don't even make a secret of it. They have happily crowed that they could bind the league and UEFA up in lawyers to get their own way. This is why I don't understand why all the other clubs don't just walk away. Leave them to it.

But how is this going to help them if they are found guilty? They need to prove the rules are unlawful.

I understand the legal tactic, delaying, drowning the PL in legal costs etc. I just don't get the media approach, immensely wealthy sovereign fund playing the victim card. It would be much more prudent for them to work behind the scenes to get as many allies as they can.

Anyone wondering about how thick supporters of other clubs are need only read this thread. Not only are they swallowing the City line, but one is very happy that Carragher and Neville are upset. Too fucking stupid to realise that the way things are heading West Ham will be cannpon fodder.

Sp[urs fans seem a bot more clued in though.

So, I haven't followed this enough, but...

Basically they want the APT rules to be excluded from retrospective enforcement because they found a gap (shareholder loans) that they feel is unlawful?

Even though the parts that are being enforced (sponsorships) are not affected by the gap?

Essentially a "yeah we were breaking the rules, but the rules shouldn't apply because of a technicality"? Sowing the seeds of threatened arbitration proceedings for the future while the 115 hearings are underway.

I don't understand other clubs lobbying on their behalf, aren't half of them kept afloat by these loans?

How many points am I missing or getting wrong having barely read into this complex legal matter?
