Think we would all love to see that but now the season has started it would take a huge points deduction to relegate them and the FA know whatever punishment they dish out City will appeal and if they aren't happy with that outcome it will go before the court of arbitration. By that time any punishment that was dished out will be so diluted that charging them in the first place would have been a total waste of time .

PL rules don't allow an appeal to Court of Arbitration, they can appeal to a PL appointed committee and I also read they could go as far as the High Court in the UK.

PL only have themselves to blame for this shit show.

If City are deducted points this season and Arsenal win the league they should definitely have an asterisk next to it.

If they walk away from this with anything but a monumental punishment then it won't be worth watching football any more. At the rate they are gobbling up othger sports there wont be much left that isn't tainted.

It has not been worth for a good while. Klopp kept it interesting by giving it everything every single week to beat these cheats, he had to give up finally.

PL better have good lawyers to beat their £5000/hour lawyer.

The Premier League are fucked either way. If they win they've admitted that the team that has dominated the league over the past ten years has done it by cheating, which opens up all kinds of potential law suits from clubs that have been affected by Man city's cheating, If they lose, then it means the likes of Newcastle, Villa etc can go on unlimited spending sprees for ever more and Man City will go after them for damages!!

A lot of people are underestimating how big a watershed moment this case will be.

Delaney is one of very few hacks who at least appear to be concerned with City’s skullduggery and who doesn’t trip over themselves to justify their cheating.

More power to him.

They hate him on Bluemoon! Seems an old school journo.

I overheard a podcast my youngest lad listens to - sounded like Southerners - they were all saying they'll hit them with something that falls well short of what they deserve. Points deduction and a big fine was the consensus. Point well made that anything under 30 points is ridiculous because they are still borderline good enough to make champions league even with that. All agreed it has to be over multiple seasons as well because one season of not making the champions league is nothing to them. To be fair, they all said they should be relegated but reckoned that is fuck all likely.

One fella said what I think - they'll give them a one off points deduction that allows someone else (Arsenal most likely with us a distant possibility) win the league. They'll be over the moon and the league is seen to save face (I know I know). A lot of the "average" Red or Arsenal fans will just be happy to celebrate. The reality is it's basically being grateful that the rodents who have infested your house left the curry your wife made free for you to enjoy.

Apparently the PL lawyer is an Arsenal fan and charges £5,001 an hour.

(That's one for the Suarez fans)

They’re going nowhere unfortunately. I’ve made my peace with it.

The fact that they stopped complying with the PL five years ago should have had them kicked out straightaway, but instead they’re allowed to hoover up all the titles. Surely the first rule is to agree to the fucking rules.

Deffo, if even one charge is held up their "brand" is ruined forever.

I just want them - and Guardiola - to be synonymous with the term cheat, like a cloud that forever hangs over them. A ten part Netflix documentary about their cuntery is needed to convince the average twat of what we've known all along.

Aye, them was the days. Remember when guilt created shame and stigma?  Much simpler times.

As we know, guilt can be disputed even after it has been established beyond doubt.  In fact, with a bit of skill and guile, it can be turned to your advantage, and the authority declaring guilt being disreputable.

What an age to be alive...

The government will be hanging around in the backroom putting pressure on not to piss them off. And a few MPs and Lords will get a donation, director role or holidays to the Emirates

Would not be surprised with that scenario

Thought similar. The idea that it's a sport is then totally killed.

If anything, I think it'll be the opposite. For some time governments have wanted to set up regulation, taking it out of the PL's hands, and it's only been that looming threat that propelled the Everton case to break new ground with points deductions.

If City beat the rap, the calls for an independent regulator will become deafening.
