Not really. It would be like blaming the choices of uefa or the fa on Liverpool.

Plus there's open warfare between the Spanish FA and La Liga over such things.

In my rush to create a false equivalence I didn’t know this…

I don't know the day to day politics of it to be honest. I just know they're separate entities and it would be amazing if they're collaborating because there seems no effort from any of the bodies that run the game, no matter where in the world or what level to cooperate.

There was something about it in the last issue of When Saturday Comes over Pique pulling a fast one and creating a four team super cup out in the desert.

Their complaint isn't about sportswashing or human rights issues though. It's about financial doping and not playing by the rules, so La Liga clubs playing in Saudi isn't anything to do with this particular issue. Personally I'd say it's an issue and they shouldn't be taking Saudi cash, but it's unconnected to their complaint.

As Barry Wom says, La Liga did clamp down on Barca, forcing them to get rid of Messi. I don't see the PL or Ligue 1 doing similar to City and PSG.

And the PL forcing Everton to get rid of Jonjoe Kenny

Are City and Barcelona in some unholy alliance? I vaguely remember someone mentioning debt being restructured through middle eastern banks but cant remember if that was true or just theory.

I am pretty sure it came out that it was a combination of middle East and American banks. I'm sure the American one was a big one, like JPM or BAML.

Surely other clubs will and come together to rail against these oil state clubs. They have moved the goalposts so far that it is impossible to go back.

Uefa, Premier League and Ligue un have allowed these clubs to change the landscape forever.

That isn’t fair to other clubs and it’s almost like fuck the clubs that have made the game what it is, it’s new money so fuck em.

Lets start a league that doesn’t involve any of them. Not one of the fuckers.
And what happened to the PL investigation against the fuckers? Surely these sponsorship deals have to pass some regulatory test.
