Man City - the new bitters?

The Citizens are on about heysel 24/7 now because they've never won a European cup.

Some of the comments in sports pages are pretty vile. There was a number of them in the Echo recently, not sure if that was why they stopped the comments section for a while though.

We finished neck-and-neck for trophies this season.

Liverpool:

Premier League

Club World Cup

UEFA Super Cup

Man City:

I still find it quite hilarious that city and their fans some how think they are our rivals. Nothing could be further from the truth. They have no history at all that they are trying to manufacture a rivalry with us.

I agree mate, but current opposition makes rivalry even though it does not last, like with Forest in the late 70’.

I’m torn with the season restarting so soon.

Should I lament that city and united won’t have time to stew in their misery over a few months or delight that they have so little time to recover mentally before having to start again?

I thought teams in Europe are having an extended break? I thought I read somewhere that teams in Europe will have 30 days off from the day they’re out of Europe? Anyone know if that’s right? Then again I also remember reading European qualifiers start soon.

I struggle to hate city, pity them is more accurate.

United is my hatred though. Always will be.

I even had a united supporting mate on fb (he’s normally a sound fella, apart from football) claim we were ‘lucky’ this season.

They are to commission a statue in honour of David Silvas 10 year association with them yes you read that right

Quality.

I wish we could lure them into a legends friendly purely for comedy value.

Imagine reading all the shite on your timeline every day. I don't get why they have Twitter accounts.

If you are single, a shagger and a footy player..... I'd have the lot.

It's part of their financial planning. Etih - statue will sponsor it for 25 million a year!

True but at least Forest won a European cup - city can’t win a QF

If we had statues for our playing legends then literally Anfield would be a mass of them.

You wouldn't be able to get in the gates with ours. They are a plastic club. Blackburn bought the league, these are no different. Whenever the money dries up they will find they're mid table level.

He did buy their success, but at least Jack Walker was a local businessman, and Blackburn was the team he grew up supporting. The money he put into Blackburn (est £50m ) would get you one City full back.

Aren't they putting one up of Kompany as well? They'll have more statues than fans in a couple of years.

About the only place at the Etihad you’d be in good Kompany.

It'll be like the Weeping Angels in Dr Who.

Well they've set the bar now, surely Aguero will be next.
