Teams like Burnley and especially Watford, are beaten in their heads before they step on the pitch against city. That why they capitulate so easily. They dont have the same attitude when playing us and some of the other top clubs.

It's on a par with throwing a game in my opinion.

I don’t know about the last bit, but the first paragraph is on the money, and I’ve been saying it for years; even when we had that ridiculous run in 19/20, there was clearly, to other teams, never the same aura of inevitable defeat that City provoke. They could have lost 7 in a row at the same time as us having reeled off 10 wins and the majority of league teams would think they’ve sufficient chance to give it their all against us while saving themselves in an inevitable defeat against them.

Real, Barcelona and Juventus have seen the future, they know as do our owners.

Pity we buckled to the media pressure over here, looks like we'll all have to learn the hard way.

The basic idea of doing something different was sound but the structure proposed was bad and the presentation horrific.

Some would say genius I say fraud.

When the season starts and Football Focus returns I’d love them to raise this as an issue and discuss how it’s bad for English football but no doubt they’ll continue to suck on Citeh’s cock as if they’re the greatest thing ever.

A fraud and a bit of a fibber too

Pep Guardiola accepts it is “impossible” for Manchester City to sign a big-money replacement striker for Sergio Aguero this summer.

And the City boss will not complain if the Premier League leaders do not bring in a new centre forward at all.

https://www.bt.com/sport/news/2021/april/pep-guardiola-says-manchester-city-will-not-spend-big-to-replace-sergio-aguero

Pep Guardiola has said that Manchester City do not need to spend £100 million on one player to compete with the best teams in Europe.

It’s the way they fall over themselves to frame them as this whiter than white, all that is good about football and the world type of entity that gets me. You could sort of understand a grudging respect for the football they play, but the reality is some Trumpian propaganda level shit.

Yes their arrogance bit them on the arse but the concept was a sound one. A few tweaks like relegation / promotion and it still has legs. Hope they have another pop just to see the self serving cunts at Sky lose the plot again.

They will have another go.

Indeed they will and that’ll be the day Liverpool football club dies.  League football rendered pointless, European football put in the bin.

Some will lap up watching Liverpool v Real whogivesafuck in the UAE every turnaround.  If the scum that own the club crunch the numbers and there’s more money there, then that’s the end of the game.

People seem to forget City were included in the super League so it wouldn't have made a difference as they'd still spend. They should not have been included in the plans.

They would have been be under an actual FFP which they signed up to and not the bollocks Uefa have which City went to court to fuck off with ease.

Do you see a scenario where there is a Super League with no English teams in it?

Nope, it's where football is headed, sadly.  Inevitable from the day the clubs started selling their souls to hedgefunds.

The only surprise is its took a decade or two longer than expected to properly test the waters.

No, they'd have been under an agreement by all the clubs signed up to the ESL on spending limits.

I don't think Juve or Madrid are owned by hedgefunds.

If they had picked the right time in the last 20 years we might not have had to worry about being included.

So - silverlining for you.

Football is in an impossible situation. A league with financial parity and or strong regulation is exactly what it needs, but it's unpalatable for fans and the prospect of seeing Real Madrid play Man U every couple months in Riyadh does sound terrible. The whole thing stinks.

As for City, they'll say the Grealish signing is covered by sales, so it's alright. Sales facilitated by the fact they have about 10 affiliate clubs they sell their players to, but whatever, it's all above board, obviously.

These slippery cunts would have found a way around the Super League rules. After all they are owned by some of the most despicable people on the planet.

You're missing the obvious point. Irrespective of whether they find a way around the rules, the Super League could eject them from the competition and city would have to go cap in hand back to UEFA. UEFA couldnt enforce its FFP because a coach and horses could be driven through their flimsy rules and the information UEFA used for their case was obtained from dubious sources.

But if you dont think the Euro league and it's clubs wouldnt be able to reel in city's wanton spending, crack on with doing nothing about it and accepting the inevitable.

Obviously I have no proof but I reckon that this wrangle with the FA has something to do with it.

They know they are fucked this time & are likely going to be banned from a few future windows, so they’re going big now.
