I don’t know about the last bit, but the first paragraph is on the money, and I’ve been saying it for years; even when we had that ridiculous run in 19/20, there was clearly, to other teams, never the same aura of inevitable defeat that City provoke. They could have lost 7 in a row at the same time as us having reeled off 10 wins and the majority of league teams would think they’ve sufficient chance to give it their all against us while saving themselves in an inevitable defeat against them.

People seem to forget City were included in the super League so it wouldn't have made a difference as they'd still spend. They should not have been included in the plans.

Football is in an impossible situation. A league with financial parity and or strong regulation is exactly what it needs, but it's unpalatable for fans and the prospect of seeing Real Madrid play Man U every couple months in Riyadh does sound terrible. The whole thing stinks.

 

As for City, they'll say the Grealish signing is covered by sales, so it's alright. Sales facilitated by the fact they have about 10 affiliate clubs they sell their players to, but whatever, it's all above board, obviously.

You're missing the obvious point. Irrespective of whether they find a way around the rules, the Super League could eject them from the competition and city would have to go cap in hand back to UEFA. UEFA couldnt enforce its FFP because a coach and horses could be driven through their flimsy rules and the information UEFA used for their case was obtained from dubious sources.

 

But if you dont think the Euro league and it's clubs wouldnt be able to reel in city's wanton spending, crack on with doing nothing about it and accepting the inevitable.

Obviously I have no proof but I reckon that this wrangle with the FA has something to do with it.
