I don't think we would have won it anyway. The 4 teams remaining have both been greatly advantaged by the decisions on how to handle Covid in their respective countries. Bayern and Leipzig restarting the earliest gave them a nice break before the Champions League restarted and Lyon and PSG could come in completely fresh with Ligue 1 being cancelled. Think that worked greatly in their favour compared to Spanish/English/Italian sides.

Not so sure really. Bayern are the only team I would have been really worried about.  Anyway immaterial now and winning it without playing two legged ties is not the same.

PSG played the French Cup and League Cup finals before the Atalanta game, plus friendlies.

The 4 teams that advanced all had the most average days between matches out of all the remaining teams when the Champions League restarted. Probably not a coincidence. They all had time to recharge their batteries, while the English, Spanish and Italian teams all had to rush to finish their leagues with a shit load of games in a short time period.

So, you agree with me, that’s 2 competitive games in 5 months. Hardly good preparation for the biggest Cup competition in Europe.

I don't think there's any proof about what prepares you better, rest or playing loads of games to develop a rhythm. But I do know that if I was playing football, I'd rather have played a relaxed schedule of friendlies and a few important games going into a big game rather than having to play a competitive game every 4 or 5 days for a couple months straight.

Really hard to tell who had the better schedule, but Paris seemed to finish better both games.

I reckon it'll be as straight forward as who is the most ruthless in both boxes. We saw Lyon counter well at times tonight and couldn't take their chances or there was an illustration in goalkeeping that ederson should watch. Then the other end, Munich look sharp again. They're playing a little like we did in the run up to Kiev. But I wouldn't expect Paris to be as wasteful as lyon were, so neuer will need to be right on his game as no doubt Paris will get chances. It's got all the hallmarks of a boring 0-0 after everything we've seen this week!

I'm just waiting for the announcement that NYCFC has signed Messi and is going to pay him 1m/week.

Followed by the announcement one day later that they're loaning him to Manchester City for the season, but NYC is going to cover 99% of his wages.

Wouldn't shock me if he signed a deal with City Group and initially joined City on 200k a week before fucking off to the US on a 1 year deal with some weird ambassador deal for NYCFC paying him the rest of his wages

I couldn't give a flying fuck if Messi does indeed end up at City, they're non-entities and it would be nice to watch him in the PL. My main gripe with this if it goes through is the fact that Stoke are no longer in the league, useless fucken twats just had to go get themselves relegated. Cunts.
