Man City - the new bitters?

Unsurprising that a story (a dead one in fact) hit the headlines as City are five points off the lead in the Premier League. I mean, what if that situation led to questions like 'Has Guardiola spent badly?' 'Why hasn't he won the Champions League given unlimited resources, unlike his rivals?' Perish the thought.

I couldn’t give a flying fuck to be honest.  All this amateur hour and pants down stuff is laughable.  The club will do things underhand like every other club and if we weren’t we would be getting left behind.  The fact the Van Dijk stuff is still getting thrown at the club now even after he’s signed for us and pretty much been the reason we’ve been to two champions league finals and won one of them really shows how thick some people are.

Southampton had Van Dijk on a 5 year deal and didn’t want to sell.  They wanted to keep him for a few years push for the Europe/champions league and sell him with a couple of years on his contract knowing the market was getting bigger and bigger.  They played the tap up card because Liverpool had played a blinder convincing the best centre back in world football to sign for them despite being off the pace in the league and not looking like CL contenders and other clubs being interested and being capable of offering more money.  We played such a blinder with Van Dijk that he didn’t go looking elsewhere, sat on his hands and waited for us to come back in.  At the most we will get a fine and if at worst it’s given us some competitive advantage over the biggest cheats in football at best it might have told us how much they were willing to pay for Van Dijk or some other targets. Look where we are it clearly hasn’t fucking harmed us.

I don't get where this has come from. There is clearly a NDA in place so even if City leaked it (which they probably did) they can't expand on it. Even if they got what they wanted from it in terms of punishment, they have 3 on-going investigations into them from the FA, PL and UEFA, any precedent set here in terms of points deduction will only come back to bite them on the arse.

It's in everyone's interests for this to just go away.

This is fucking embarrasing, you can give city as much stick as you'd like for leaking it now, but as with the VVD Blackpool incident it looks like we've been caught with our pants down, bloody amateur hour over here.

Agreed. Might as well just dissolve the club.

I'd imagine - because none of us actually know - that without the club knowing, we poached their scouting staff and they went on after they joined us in 2013. It's bad, we did wrong, the club are responsible because the new staff worked for them, but it's not really amateur hour, or even the club's fault unless they were actually involved. Either way, whatever we get handed to us we probably deserve it because we actually did it. And the twats who actually did it, if they did it with intent rather than just to get some stuff they;'d left behind, then they shouldn't complain if they were sacked.

Amateur hour is when someone leaves your company/organisation/FOOTBALL CLUB - especially to  a competitor - and nobody deletes their accounts or takes appropriate measures to prevent them from continuing to access your confidential information.

the best answer to it is keep getting 3 points week in week out the fact there leak didn't work is the best answer we can give plus it will add to the meltdown on bluemoon. That place always cheers me up when im feeling depressed haha!!

To be fair it's pretty tough to host a European game without them throwing some charge at you. It seems to me like an accepted tax for taking part in the competition.

The ' Blocking the corridors ' mullarkey is the UEFA version of the Krays protection racket.
