Expectations 2018-2019

I'm keeping my feet on the ground and only expecting that we win the title.

A slight worry in this regard will be that we'll almost certainly be in the knock-out stages in Europe from February onwards, which could mean we spread ourselves too thin.

Call me defeatist, but I'm happy to sacrifice Europe for a title win.

We should aim at beating the 08/09 points record of 86. If we've done that then we've overachieved. Can't do much if Man City get 95 points.

Champions League depends on luck but getting into the semi-finals again would cement our spot among the elite.

FA Cup and League Cup for rotating the squad and developing youngsters.

Agree with Hades.

First and foremost I want us to get the most points we've ever had in the top flight. If we do that and it's not enough to win the title, so be it.

We can't control what others do, but if we're the best we can be that's all we can ask.

As for the CL, much depends on luck with injuries and whether we have the options to rotate and keep everyone fresh. If we're in a title race then I'd like to think that takes priority and anyone who needs to be rested is left out of the CL games.

At least 2nd in the league and QF of the Champions League. The FA Cup will depend on the draw. If we're lucky in that regard we could win it, but if not, prioritize the bigger comps. Same with the League Cup except we've already been fucked in that regard.

Silverware in the form of domestic cups would be for Klopp's and the supporters' sanity but it doesn't mean much besides that.

It should be a good comparison after the next 7 with each team having played 4 of the 'bigger' teams.

Funny how all are games against the other top sides are clustered together compared to Chelsea and City and indeed the others too.

Same thing happens at Christmas/New Year too.

It looks even funnier when you insert our champions league fixtures into that list.
