I've just ordered a new PC.

No bother I thought. My Mrs has just come home and gone mental at me spending what I did.

I said I needed it. How can I manage without a PC.

She then points out that in one room I have 3 laptops going (in fairness to me one is replacing the blown desktop) one is my daughter's that I am resurrecting and one is works.

What about the iPad and 2 phones she says.

Pah they are too small.

I work from home, I have a desktop in the office, a laptop for site visits and a Chromebook for personal use/porn.  I also have an iPad which the kids have basically stolen, there are also two perfectly fine laptops under the stairs.  I have two phones, one personal and an old Blackberry Classic for work emails.

 

It is all too much, but its the way things are I guess.

There was an article I can no longer find on the bbc about the worrying amount of time kids were spending on smartphones and computers, it's addictiveness and what it does to the brain. My colleague also mentioned something about screen addiction triggering the same part of the brain in kids as cocaine addiction.
