I liked him 3-4 years ago and thought he could play for a top club and if he came to us I'd be happy as he's just what we need.

No, but he's being linked with a move away and I was wondering if we've been laying the groundwork with all our business with Bournemouth.

It's not an unreasonable hypothesis Pidge. We've obviously had plenty of dialogue with their manager and moneymen very recently and within the last 2 years. If we were interested I'm the subject will have been spoken about "while we're on the blower, your lad Wilson, what's happening?" type of a thing.

As I said, I'd be happy to get him, he's very mobile, strong and can finish and wouldn't be a superstar demanding to start every game. It's a real step up for him to come to us, so he would be striving to prove and improve himself.

I doubt it will happen mind.

Callum Wilson is nowhere near good enough. One of these strikers that comes to the Premier League, turns up for a season or two and then disappears off the radar. Origi scored more goals in his first two seasons here - off the bench - than Wilson has in his last two seasons in the Premier League, starting every game. 

 

We should be aiming for Werner, and players of that ilk, not a Brendan Rodgers punt on a mid 20's flavour of the month because he's going through a purple patch.

I don't understand the point of loaning players like him or when Sturridge went to West Brom apart from saving a bit of wages. Loans should only be for young players to get experience.

OMUR OPEN TO LIVERPOOL

Trabzonspor teenager Abdulkadir Omur would be open to a move to Liverpool.

Jurgen Klopp's side have been linked with the 19-year-old, who has been coined the "Turkish Messi".

Speaking today, Omur said: "Liverpool are a great club, one of the greatest in the world. These offers are something Trabzonspor need to discuss.

"If the club give the go-ahead, talks can be held. The club's interests take precedence. I'll do whatever is in the club's best interests."

Kamil Grabara has gone out on loan to AGF Aarhus for the remainder of the season.

Liverpool goalkeeper Kamil Grabara has joined Danish club AGF Aarhus on loan for the rest of 2018-19, subject to international clearance.

The Poland youth international is set to spend the second half of the season with the 10th-placed Superliga side, who resume their campaign in early February.

 

Grabara joined the Reds in 2016 and is a regular member of the first-team training squad as well as representing Neil Critchley’s U23s.

 

He also featured for Liverpool in a pre-season friendly with Manchester United last summer.

I actually speak a Turkic language (not Turkish itself, but in the extended family of languages - it's the local language in this part of Siberia) so I gave it a shot.

 

It was ... difficult for me to piece anything together. I definitely caught some numbers being thrown about (those seem to be the same between languages), "Abdulkadir-for from the Premier League ... something something," then he asked a rhetorical question that included the words "million" and "transfer." Not much help, I'm afraid. Hopefully be a proper translation out in the next day or so.
