Spending 75 million on a Dutch league player would be one of the biggest gamblers of all time.   That league is nearly as poor as the Scottish one.

Luis Suarez and Dirk Kuyt were disasters.

I remember you using the same list of players to why we should be bothered about Everton wasting a huge sum on Klassen.

It's Klaassen.

The Eredivisie produces a huge amount of talent. A lot goes on to have a good career, a lot make a wrong move and a lot these days seem to move too early. To compare it to Scotland just makes you look an ignorant blert.

And they all look better in Holland cause the standard they're playing against is brutal, that you can't get away from.

Sami Hyypia - a waste of £2.6m.

On a serious note - if Liverpool had paid a top transfer fee for him would he still be considered a success? I believe the top transfer fee in 1999 was £22.5m for Nicholas Anelka from Arsenal to Real Madrid.

The difference with Holland is that they have good academies and the Dutch drill into them from an early age that technique is important. Most good players get a chance from an early age there and gain valuable playing experience. Even some of the unknown foreign players thrive there and develop before moving on.

Apparently, Coutinho’s been getting loads of grief off the spoilt little Barca brats. He’s liked one of Mo’s Instagram posts tonight so based on this it looks nailed on he’s wanting to come back.

Would you take him?

Definitely. He's a little bellend but he's a joy to watch.

Only if he's had his back fixed.
