Premier League leaders Liverpool are reported to have signed goalkeeper Kai McKenzie-Lyle on a permanent contract.

The 6ft 7in shot-stopper was taken on trial by the Reds back in July and turned out for the club’s Under-23s in their 1-1 friendly draw against Hungarian club ETO Gyor.

McKenzie-Lyle made his pro debut at just 17 when he played for Barnet in a 3-1 loss to Portsmouth back in 2015 and has since been capped by Guyana.

The 20-year-old netted in bizarre circumstances on his national debut, going up for a corner kick in the final minute of extra time as his side trailed 3-1 to Surinam.

The huge stopper nudged the ball over the line with the top of his shoulder after attempting a header as they eventually slipped to a 3-2 defeat. (haha)

And the Guyana international appears to have signed an Anfield contract with the Reds after impressing during his trial period, as reported by the Liverpool Echo.

Posting on his Instagram account on Thursday, McKenzie-Lyle said: “Happy to start my new challenge with @liverpoolfc big thanks to @10tentalent for getting it done #YNWA”.

Jurgen Klopp also has promising youngster keeprs Kamil Grabara and Caoimhin Kelleher on the books too, with the latter believed to be seen as third choice currently.

However, the young Irishman looks set for a spell on the sidelines after he picked up an injury in a collision with Divock Origi in training on Tuesday.

Who’d be the third? The IVF doctor?

Someone who has a double barrelled name already and then marries someone and adds their name? Barnes-Smith marries Jones and becomes Barnes-Smith-Jones.

Yeah, that makes sense. So two double-barrelled cunts could have four. Great. Oxlade-Chamberlain-Alexander-Arnold

I think someone on here (maybe @Nelly-Torres?) has already mentioned him, but Nicolas Pepe is an absolutely perfect attacker for us if there is an eventual need for that. Just entering his prime at 23 y.o, could play any front 3 position and has pace, dribbling ability and end product. He's also at a club (Lille) who have a clear project of selling players.

I hope they get married whilst play for ya and decide to double-barrel their already double-barrelled names.

Oxlade-Chamberlain-Alexander-Arnold, up the wing to Oxlade-Chamberlain-Alexander-Arnold. Then I hope they have a kid who go on to marry the child of Calvert-Lewin and Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink.

He’ll make a name for himself, or many more than just one.
