I’d really like Frenkie De Jong.

 

I have an admittedly unhealthy obsession with Frenkie De Jong at this point.

 

Ridiculously good player. Outside of some totally unrealistic choices, I can't imagine a better player for us to go after in January or next summer. Gonna take a truckload of money to outbid Barca (plus whoever else would come in for him) but he'd be worth every penny. Keita & De Jong in midfield for the next 5 years would absolutely destroy the Premier League.

Just wonder if we might not see a revival in our interest in Lucas Paqueta of Flamengo this January.

 

It was rumoured in Brasil that we were considering him after Fekir fell through, and he's just turned 21 and seems the right age to be looking at (since we could take our time integrating him into the first team). Plays sort of a Coutinho-esque position either in AM or out wide on the left. Most important, he's very good.

 

Supposedly has a 50m euro release clause, and I don't know if we'd go that high but he's certainly interesting. No idea how he'd stand up to the physical demands of the league but he has those magic Brasilian feet and like Coutinho, he can seemingly get out of any cramped space with a drop of the shoulder and a wriggle.
