Lolly Ices

Back in the dim and distant past there was a banana lolly, I think it was called a Banana Boat. A bit racist as it had a black lad on the wrapper, when it was still considered ok to associate bananas with black people. Nice lolly though.

Growing up on the Isle of Man we would have had different lollys and ice creams to most of you as Manx Ices had the monopoly on the island, and the likes of Walls weren't allowed in. My favourite was the Choc Mad, which was a raspberry lolly ice half dipped in chocolate. We had Screwballs, only they were called HiBalls. Shit ice cream in a cone shaped plastic packet with a bubbly at the bottom of it, so the principle was the same. I loved visiting our rels in England as I got to gorge myself on things like Funny Feet, which we couldn't get on the island. Good times.
