Welcome to the new and improved TLW!

Some of you may experience issues logging in and will get an 'incorrect password' error. Don't worry, you haven't typed it in wrong and your password hasn't been changed. You will need to reset it though in order to log in. Click the reset password link and you will receive an email with your new temporary password. Once logged in, you need to choose a new password (or restore to your old one) otherwise you will be locked out again.

If you have an out of date email address linked to your account, then you won't receive the new password. If that's the case then you'll need to email me (dave @liverpoolway.co.uk) or send me a tweet @theliverpoolway and I'll update your password manually.

Any other problems or questions just let me know.

Thanks

Dave

I think I'm ready to be hurt by another transfer saga again.

Pearce is like the honest mate who lets you know straight up you're wasting your time even trying with the hot girl. The fact he thinks its on will be the ultimate dagger in the heart if it doesn't materialise.

Obviously a small sample (ie CL semi and WC) but he hasn't stood out to me at all. If anything, he's looked slightly suspect. So basically, is he actually any good?

New Brazilian friend for Firmino

I do think its important to have a few lads from the same area.

Remember mascherano saying how important it was for his family and having Insua nearby was good for them. Lucas seemed to be the main guy behind the scenes getting all the South American lads feeling at home. Numbers have dwindled and i do think its important that we have a few to make their families feel at home. Think thats also why they like London with the families having loads of clubs south American players to settle in

Rebecca Tavares seemed like she'd made herself at home pretty quickly.

I really love how stuck in she's getting, most her tweets and Instagram pics are tagged with #ynwa, mentions Liverpool a lot, says she is going to get better at English so she can talk to us fans on twitter a bit.

And she's also a half decent player herself.

I think I love her.

I really do think its needed for the South American players.

Most of them do seem to want a community for their families away from football(don't blame them) anything that makes them feel at home is welcome.

Same with the club making the effort with the prayers rooms etc for the Islamic players.

That Kaveh cockhead from Sky is saying Chelsea are considering resigning Cech and also Kasper Schmeichel if they decide to sell Courtois.

Oh i hope so

He is done and has been for a few years

pre head injury he was superb, very good after but his best days went 2-3 years ago

The cusp of any transfer feels great incomplete without one of Ginny’s desperate pleas.

That’s possibly your best yet.

Time to seal the deal.

Well this is all very exciting! I put on SSN about 6,30pm  and there was no mention there. Glad I got here just before the site goes down - what a window this could be!

By the time we come back online, Alisson and Fekir will be learning on something in Melwood. Believe!

    • The money clubs? I thought they were richer than us?
    • That forum seems to be absolutely toxic. Many, MANY posts about how bitter we're going to be if we get 97 points and still finish second.   Which, I mean, it will sting a bit but honestly I'd tip my hat to them and say "well done." If they get 98 points they deserve to win the league; a shame we couldn't do better but whatever we end up with this has been the best Liverpool side since I started supporting and I'm really looking forward to the next few years.
    • Yup.   I talk about this all the time but we fans speak about players' fees, but clubs look at the total cost/season. So if you want to look at it from a buying club's point of view, wages will play a huge factor in the fee you're willing to pay.   Our most expensive player in terms of total cost (fee amortisation + wages) is Virgil, who costs us just under 23m/season. You'd imagine that a midfielder like Pogba, if you think you can get him back to his best, peak age midfielder, the most anyone's going to pay is maybe 30m/season, total.   I think he's on 300k/week, no? And he's asking for even more? So that is 15m/season, probably 18m/season or more by the time you pay his agent and give him a pay rise to move to Madrid. That leaves you 12m/season on his fee. So if you think he'll be really good for 5 years you give him a 5-year deal, meaning the fee can't be over 60m.   They're going to lose a LOT of money on some of those players. It's possible they'll put out a figure of 90m for the papers and then give him and his agent 30m so that they sign a lower-wage deal, but it won't matter. They won't get more than 60m for him that they get to keep. And that's just Pogba, some of the others they've got to sell would be much worse. I shudder to think how much money they'd have to pay Sanchez just to go away this summer.
    • I did read it and I get your point totally.   It’s just if you told me now that we could have Klopp for 25 years and he would win what Ferguson did then I wouldn’t see those raised expectations post Klopp as a problem. It’s the making terrible football decisions that I see as the main problem (actually, it’s not a problem, i fucking love it happening to them) but agree the expectations are a handicap for any manager they bring in now until they win a couple of big trophies.   Anyway, I’m borderline giving them credit for the Ferguson era and I’m not comfortable with that so fuck them! Hope they get the point Wednesday then never get a point again the gang of shit houses. Solskjaer is miles out his depth
