Alisson Becker

Oblak would be my preferred choice.

But, Alisson is a very good keeper. He's an absolutely massive upgrade on Karius and Mignolet. It seems ages since we've had a keeper who has been the number 1 for their country. You need a bit of that. Our current two keepers haven't really made a dent on the international stage, Karius being uncapped at senior level and just a handful of times at youth levels. Mignolet hasn't pushed Courtois since the latter took over the number 1 jersey.

And, that's what you need at a club with aspirations. The keeper who is the best in their country. Or who is, at the very least, pushing for that position. We haven't had that really since Reina, before his marked regression for us.

Watched a few You Tube clips and dislike his habit of strongly parrying the ball out to the sidelines rather than spilling it 2 or 3 feet in front of him back into the danger zone.

Pull the plug on this cunt and let's see what Dave Beasant is upto these days.

Is it a deal, or what? What does it mean "nothing to stop other clubs doing likewise"? Are Roma so shrewd in doing business that they can sell a player to two different clubs?

They'll accept bids from any club at that price and leave the final decision to Alisson.

If this is true I'm delighted. Finally the club have spotted the elephant in the room and signed a decent keeper,. It was clear to me this was by far the most urgent issue and talk of it affecting negatively on our ability to sign other targets is irrelevant if you don't stop the bleeding at the back. I would think the addition of world class keeper is more likely to be positive in our search for better outfield players. Who the fuck would be impressed by the prospect of playing in front of

Mig or Karius ?

If anything, this shows some intent from the owners.

We're fragile at the back and they've gone out and addressed two immediate issues (GK/CB).

We've signed Naby and have a versatile front three.

That's a great spine to build from and something we've all been banging on about for seasons.

Depends which youtube video you watch mate.

I've just watched one where if you don't look at his face, he's palming that back back into the strikers feet.

You need a bit of that.
