Said earlier, heart says Arsenal, head says Chelsea for the reason above.

Fuck it, Arsenal to win. Proper football club compared to their plastic neighbours. Do it for Claude!

Hope Arsenal win.

Not that arsed about them getting into the Champions League and having a few more quid for players - we'll still be much better.

Looking at the broader picture, we need a few more clubs who can potentially take points off Manchester City.

Arsenal all the way. They were always the most likeable of the London teams for me bar someone like Charlton. Proper football club with a history of great players. I can't stand Chelsea and never have. They are the most vile club in the land, though the fuckers on bluemoon are beginning to give them a good run for their money.

If that was Liverpool (or Everton haha) in the final, you would have gangs of lads regaling tales of the maddest of journeys and flying to Kabul and then trekking on a mule through Iran to get to Baku, or you would have Speedo Mick walking it from Alder Hey. I'd love to go to Baku, because face it I'm not going there with fucking Ingerlund and i'm not sure it's the type of place my wife would like to see.

I mean yeah it would be nice for Chelsea Jeremy or Arsenal Rhys to have a 3 hour flight to Rome or get the eurostar to Paris so he doesn't miss too much work in the lawfirm, but fuck me it really sums up how different we are. We would bring close to 100 thousand fans to baku i reckon.

Wonder will the hardman Chelsea fans kick off in Baku?! They love throwing chairs around in Brussels or Copenhagen. Doubt they'll take the piss over there.

Hope Chelsea get fucked, shit club and fans, and seem to be on a bit of a knife edge with players likely to leave and impending transfer bans.

The only downside of arsenal winning is that the pot gets shared between 5 teams instead of 4. One of the shittest things about playing Tottenham is we only get half the TV money that we got from last years final.

Saw more of the 'exciting build-up' on the news again before and there was an old bloke, just a local resident stood on his balcony with loads of arsenal fans stood in the street shouting 'who are ya?' at him.

I just

I don't even

Looks like one of those jarg pre season friendlies in Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur or Beijing. Keep expecting there to be about 45 substitutions in this game.

Not quite. We're on a caravan holiday in the Isle of Wight.

Probably a more appropriate destination for a European final.

Was gonna say the same. UEFA have managed to make one of their two showcase finals look like something nobody wants to watch at 2am on July 19th, the massive arseholes.

Emirates Cup > Baku Shield

I’ll bet even the UEFA corporate ‘family’ have baulked at travelling to this.

At least Emery has had the good sense to bench Mustafi.

    • So not good enough then?
    • He is nut but he's brilliant.
    • The whole situation with him is just weird.  In just the last couple of pages you can see people coming up with all sorts of reasons for him not really doing it and I don’t think any of them are right.  I could probably count the amount of times he’s tried to dribble past players in the whole time he’s been here on one hand.  He’s probably had less than 10 shots as well.  I don’t get this view that he’s trying to do what he did in the Bundesliga and is trying to dribble past too many players because it’s just not a reality.   The next one “he needs to pass it quicker” has got some elements of truth to it but I don’t think in the manner it was suggested.  He plays first time easy passes a lot of the time in the opposition half.  I don’t have a lot of problem with that but we aren’t going to unlock defences with him doing that if he’s doing it every single time and it’s surely not what we signed him for.   He can get caught dawdling on the ball in our half sometimes and it looks so amateurish because as much shit as our midfielders take they’re very professional in that position and it almost never happens when it’s anyone else so it really sticks out for me.   Personally I think his main problem and Klopp will almost definitely be thinking it is that the number 8 positions for us need to be disciplined.  They need to cover the full backs when they go forward and they also can’t be the players to lose the ball because that’s our biggest danger of conceding.   He doesn’t really compare in style to any of the other number 8’s in the squad which should obviously be a good thing but when he plays I think he puts the whole game plan out of kilter.  It might be one of the reasons he makes those first time easy passes because he doesn’t want to risk possession but it almost definitely reduces his whole game.   I’m in the camp that I don’t think it will work out here because he’s going to need time and a lot of games and he’s not going to get that because of the abundance of players we have in his position and the amount of games we are winning with those players playing there.
    • He's carried the team after Christmas last season and he's doing a great job now helping out, what a fantastic player he is. A wonderful person too, love him.
