Perfect European away leg. Spurs did nothing second half, despite what will be said.

Got the goal, lots of energy then slowed down and controlled the game.

Spurs had 1 shot on target all game, which was the Alli shot he hit into the ground approx 50 mins in.

Sissoko didn't take the game by the scruff of the neck after coming on, as Jenas was suggesting. Pochettino ditched his 3-4-3 and had Trippier and Rose revert to regular full-back roles, so Sissoko just gave the team another body in midfield. Ajax had completely dominated in midfield up to then.

Spurs looked devoid of ideas, and all their more creative sparks looked jaded and incapable of influencing play. Ajax did almost nothing attacking-wise after taking the lead, yet still came closer to scoring than Spurs did, when Neres hit the post.

If Spurs had managed to seal a top 4 spot already, they might have been able to rest one or two in the league and be fresher for the semi final. Because they and the rest have dropped a lot of points, they need to put their threadbare squad through 3 games in a week.

I think Spurs are extremely likely to qualify given the slender deficit, but it’ll be interesting if Ajax score first. I’m just not sure how they’ll react to being favourites in the eyes of the majority.

Ajax are certainly not a flash in the pan. They didn’t vanish and if we could have harpic of their players I would take a few. I understand their domestos league is not the strongest but they are a good side. They weren’t scared of a little elbow grease. As for Spurs they need a right carbolliking and 1-0 need to be ciful early on.
