Darren Fletcher

Former Man Utd midfielder on BBC Radio 5 live

There was a gulf in quality between the two sides. PSG were the better side over two legs in the last round but United rode their luck. Tonight, Barcelona were on top and two wonder goals from Lionel Messi and Philippe Coutinho were the difference.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has a lot of work ahead of him tonight but he will have seen little things from his players tonight about who kept battling and who kept playing.

Best Ajax side to watch since the mid-90s side. Going forward their attitude was like ours last year, and it frightened the shit out of Juventus. Tadic has always had the ability but never the consistency, but at Ajax he looks almost unplayable at times. Juventus didn't help themselves by having their defenders drop so deep because it left acres of space between their defence, midfield and attack. Can spent most of the second half screaming at his defenders to squeeze up, and while his own performance was mediocre, he was right to ask that of the defenders. Less about Juventus though, as the praise should go to the extremely enterprising approach of Ajax and their coach.

In the other game, the Mancs were spared a bloodbath as Barcelona went easy on them. Trademark finish into the bottom corner from outside the area by Messi for the opener, followed by a gift of a second after De Gea did what he never does against us, and then a trademark Coutinho curler into the top corner from 25 yards in the second half to wrap things up. Suarez spent the whole of the second half whining at the ref and eventually got booked. Finally, Alexis Sanchez's moustache looks shit, so literally a Dirty Sanchez then!

I love the way the narrative now is that the young manc players will learn from this and the manc hierarchy will know just how big a job goblin twat has on his hands

Barca obviously looked at the teamsheet, shit themselves when they seen Pogba's name on it, scraped themselves a 3-0 drubbing without incurring his wrath and made to look like utter cunts and were relieved to sneak home to their wives and families at the end of the ordeal in one piece.

Mourinho must be pissing himself.

On a separate note, i'm delighted juve are out. They have the nous to knock out city or spurs and us playing them in a final would have been a disaster with all the Heysel stuff in the run in and the potential for every juve hooligan knobhead to be ready to kick off.

We make it through tomorrow and it will be a classic against barca.

Leaving club loyalties aside, it would be a european footballing royalty final if it ended up being Ajax against either us or Barcelona.

Fuck either of the other two arrivistes or Porto making it.

At least Porto have some genuine European pedigree, having won the top prize twice.
