I think he's definitely changed a bit as a player, I don't think he's much worse though. He never had much pace anyway, it's what made his brilliance so special. He couldn't just knock it past a player and run like Ronaldo, for example. 

 

His goal with the final kick of the game against Villarreal last week was brilliant.
