The amount of articles labelling solskaar a genius is mind boggling. I've never seen anything like it. I know United have always been the establishment and media darlings but Christ.

I hope arsenal fucking hammer them. But it's arsenal and they shit the bed.

The best of it is it's not the Norwegian gimp it's Phelan and Whiskey nose pulling the strings in the background I mean it's not like his managerial career is littered with glory is it

The key to his apparent success is simply that he is not Maureen. The players were sick of being told to do things they did not want to do. Now it is fun again with no pressure. That won't last.

It's this, and it's also an incredible streak of luck. They've overperformed their underlying numbers by I think 8 goals for and about 6-7 goals against, and also gotten 7 penalties since OGS took over.

It's going to be fun watching them return to the mean next season. I think they'll buy big in the summer and so they won't be terrible but I don't think they'll be anywhere near title rivals.

Next year they'll probably be about where Tottenham have been this season more or less. Occasional talk of a title challenge every time they win 3 in a row, but then they'll slide back and in the end they'll be in the top 4 fight more than a title. Their fans have taken a remarkably short time to lower their expectations from where they were in the Ferguson era.

GET YOUR PHIL
It might be the end for Philippe Coutinho at Barcelona. His teammates, most notably Gerard Pique, and manager Ernesto Valverde are publicly backing the Brazilian, but the same certainly cannot be said of the fans.

Coutinho played 80 ineffective and frustrating minutes against Rayo Vallecano on Saturday, with replacement Ivan Rakitic making an immediate impact with an assist for the final goal in a 3-1 win. Coutinho, for his part, was whistled by the Nou Camp crowd.

Mere hours after that game, the Sunday Mirror tells us that the 26-year-old ‘has issued a come-and-get-me plea to Manchester United’. Which does indeed mean we’re back on this train again.

He has apparently ‘spoken with a number’ of the United squad to discuss a possible move, having made Old Trafford his ‘favoured destination’.

Liverpool are ‘unlikely to want him back’, and the player’s wages and transfer fee prohibits most clubs around the world from following up on any interest. PSG are one of the few who could compete to sign him.

But it is United who may well lead the race, with the club now contemplating a potential £100m move
