Unlikely, but their club is a shambles at the top levels so who knows?

 

What we really need is for them to go on a great run between now and the end of the season. Then they can fall agonisingly close to fourth, maybe with an unlucky draw/defeat in their last game to finish 1 point behind Chelsea. I could easily see their fans with a groundswell of support for "our OGS" and Woodward finally conceding to the pressure if the only thing keeping them from an improbable fourth-place finish was a bad penalty call or something.

 

It would suit all the way around. They miss out on the CL money, end up with Solskjaer as permanent manager (thus condemning them to another two seasons, minimum, of frustration and decline) and the smarter United fans will have to watch us parade the league trophy around Liverpool knowing all of this.

 

Bonus points for them if they manage to beat City, helping us to the title along the way.
