Before the last world cup the BBC did a documentary of him travelling round Brazil on a motorbike. It was interesting in parts just to see the country but he ruined it with his massive ego. He goes and plays footy on a beach in Rio late at night and then just says afterwards about how the Brazilians thought he was really good at footy and then they all recognised him and wanted their photos taken with him.

 

He then went to the Amazon and had to take a small plane to a remote region where a tribe lived who were virtually cut off from the rest of the world. He starts asking then if any of them recognised him. None even knew what footy was. Then it's back to the camera to comment on how they really are cut off from the rest of the world because they couldn't recognise him.

Can't understand why people say they feel sorry for his wife. She zeroed in on him when he was a footballer. She knew he was marketable and she basically used that to turn them both into a brand that met her ambitions.
