Xherdan Shaqiri

Alot of talk has been around the core of the team getting too old (especially the midfield at the same time) - Shaq is 29 next week, so probably another reason it makes sense.

Stupid letting him go. I wonder will we find out the real reason Klopp hates him. Jealousy? I reckon Shaq has a Buvac tattoo.

Could be on to something, Shaq is Kosovan, Buvac is Serbian. Maybe Shaqiri drew a double eagle on him when he was asleep.

Or maybe Klopp asked him to skip leg day so he wouldn't get injured, and Shaqiri went and did some sneaky squats behind Jurgens back.

Could never quite break on through and now it's  looking like the end for him.

Five to one he goes to Lazio. If he leaves this weekend it'll be a Blue Sunday for us Shaq fans.

Before he leaves can we find out if he prefers The Doors or Creedence Clearwater Revival.

CCR, like a normal person...along with pineapple on your pizza, beans on your breakfast, etc.

Where is he actually going? Does anyone know?

If he does go it'll only be on loan you watch.  I'd rather Shaqiri come on than Minamino, Origi etc.

Not good for the club this, makes you wonder how many more will follow.

Hopefully it’s a coincidence that we have a handful of positive tests over a short period of time, and not the sign poor procedures.

is it not just the nature of the disease? it's highly contagious, we accept footballers have a job where they can't socially distance and they are living in a UK hot spot. it's why they're tested every other day.

i am guessing he had covid or was self isolating when he missed the last 2 games.

Will get worse after the international break. The only 'good' thing about it is most clubs will be affected. The whole country will be in lockdown soon. The clubs all over Europe really do need to start kicking back against FIFA organising internationals right now. Clubs are going to be decimated.

Not happened at Everton, though. For example. That may be good fortune, of course...

I am sure it is good fortune. and of course they may have players with it who don't want to say they've got it. Allan was missing at the weekend for example.

This does not look good if we are not isolating players that have been in contact with other sick players. It does look like its spreading between the players.

I was asking yesterday why he was pulled from the Arsenal if no deal was close with any club.

If it turns out it was because he was under the weather and that he wasn't tested, wouldn't there be serious ramifications from UEFA for us for potentially sending a infected player to international duty?

You would imagine that players are tested prior to being allowed to mingle with other players on an international meet up.

So many questions here, but more importantly, but from a club point of view, how many other players potentially are infected?

Pull anyone from international duty and get the entire squad isolating.

Particularly with Salzburg setting a precedent....we really should be pulling a 'we are quarantining whole squad job'....The health and safety of our players is more important etc...'

It's bizarre the Swiss FA announcing this. How have they got the test result so quickly?

Ive no doubt the club has stuck to the protocols, whether some players have remains to be seen. But with Sancho and his buddies attending another player's birthday party, it's easy to see how it can spread.

The authorities cannot apply sanctions, especially UEFA and FIFA seeing as they are making players travel all over the world to places where protocols may not be so good.

    • I've no idea, it's been called that for a couple of years, I think it's been done out recently? When I'm home I usually call in the Red Lion, a dump, to see the mate but it's closed now. I was in Benos about 2 years ago, it was OK and I was with a few lads, one knew me but it was only when I was going back into town I realised it was Foxy, hadn't seen him for 30 odd years.  In about 81 they filmed in the Caradoc, a mate was in there, later died through the gear, with a few others, they interviewed one lad and said what do you do with your day, he said I have a beer smoke some pot and play a bit of pool, then I go home for me tea and come back again and do the same, something like that.  When the Red closed last year I heard all the pool tables etc were taken down to the Caradoc. The fella who done the Pacific up last year was supposed to be doing the same to the Red but isn't now which is a shame as it could be good and not much around there these days, had some great times there years ago, good bands.  The Kents has gone and turned into a shit hole Trivelles, they started calling that Ma Kents , a load of bollocks.  My mate lives off Sandy Rd and I sometimes met him in the Claremont, also closed, a bit grim as well.  Apparently a few of the mates bevvy down South Rd now so I'll have to have a look next time I'm up.
    • I thought it was just another sad blue making shit up to make himself feel better but looking at his previous tweets he just seems like a full time wind up artist, even taking the piss out of Everton at various points.    He's done a good job of hooking reds with the bait, blues also making themselves look daft for believing it, and even the occasional Manc.    I think I'll be let this one slide because the whole situation is quite amusing and he doesn't seem to take it very seriously. Top bantz.
    • Looking at the Anfield expansion thread on Skyscrapercity, all the Evertonians believing that fake FT article. Then read this classic:   "Depends how you determine fan, you may see a lot more Liverpool shirts but doesn't necessarily correlate to being a true football fan. Worked in several bookies around the city and you'd frequently see lads with Liverpool shirts on, whilst the game was on asking 'who Liverpool playing today? Generally find Evertonians care more about football generally too, more knowledgeable about the game and interested in it outside of their club."   Funny because most of the Evertonians I've met in my lifetime only seem bothered about Everton and what Liverpool are doing. Obviously they buy shirts of the teams we play in European finals so maybe he means that.
    • Why is it called "Bennos" when it's always been known as the Railway?   Round by the Doric is awful, my mate used to live in one of those tower blocks and we went for a pint in the Doric. Crossed over that park with the kids playground and underneath the swings were a load o smackhead needles.    The Caradoc was funny. No draft ale, just cans and bottles they probably got from Costco. Sat in the lounge and there were a load of old milk crates with plywood on top of them. My mate put his feet up on them and the barman told him off for putting his feet up on the stage.
