Xherdan Shaqiri

Liverpool were also without Xherdan Shaqiri for the visit of the Foxes, with the forward picking up a muscle injury while on international duty with Switzerland.

Klopp said: “Shaq, how I know it, he had a muscle injury with the national team which he didn’t really realise.

“Now he trained with us, we gave him a day off and then he came back and was involved in the session, but was not fully involved and all these kind of things. He just did a little bit, after that he felt a little bit. Then we did a scan and they found he has an injury from five or six days ago.

“Nobody knew about that, not even Shaq knew about it, but that’s how things sometimes are and so he was not able to be involved.”

I’ll be gutted if we let him go. Boss little player and criminally underrated. The flak he took on commentary and in the studio at half time yesterday was totally undeserved.

Shades of him having to carry the can for Stoke going tits up when he was their best player that season.

Lovely cross. First time hit with a swing of the left foot. Natural talent in abundance. It's good to have him on our books, I think.

I think lovely is too soft, it was a phenomenal cross. If that was played by Pogba or the little weasely faced cunt at united there'd be cries of knighthoods coming from the media.

99% of players would have either taken a couple of touches or they'd have tried to whip it in low and it would have been cut out.

Hitting it first time, on the run, and in the air, was spectacular and very few could have pulled that off.

Mo's touch will deservedly get most of the focus but that cross was incredible.

Great player on his day. He got something we lack at times - the ability to see and make quality progressive passes, akin to what Thiago does all the time. He does lack pace and some dribbling ability, but that's not always the most important.  Interesting to see him being used in the Firminho role vs West Ham.
