Xherdan Shaqiri

The Chelsea League Cup hoo-ha suggested Shaqiri isn't a favourite with Klopp. I know Jurgen occasionally waves his arms at players but I have never seen him grandstand publicly against a player like that , particularly when it was just supposedly over how best to take a free-kick near the half-way line.

Nothing like a boring fact to undermine drama.

Haha. In fairness, he's been overlooked plenty when fit too.

I like the little guy. He's one of the few who isn't afraid to have a crack from distance, which might be useful in games like last Sunday's. Bad time for him to be unavailable as he'd surely have seen some action tonight and against Arsenal next week.

Klopp doesn't rate him and will only use him when forced to do so.  It doesn't look like he can carry out Klopp's instructions.

I like him and think he brings a sense of urgency, brilliant at free kicks too.  i would like to see him do well.

To be fair, considering the goals we've shipped this season, it looks like a number of others players arent carrying out his instructions very well either.

Yeah, it's a cracked record but we've looked like lacking defensive cohesion more this season than we did in that Southampton game.

Oh well, I love Jurgen so have to accept his decision.

I agree , he knows and must expect he’ll be on the bench for the most part, he cxn have a go from outside the area against the defensive types that can be difficult to break down, I hope he has a role to play .

The Swiss will have a role.
