This isn't intended to be calling people out, etc, but it's pretty amazing to think now that some people were strongly against signing this guy for 12 million...

I think a good few people were disappointed that it was ONLY him to bolster the attack/attacking midfield slots. I love the little rascal but another forward or creative/attacking player is needed in my view.

Many like me also thought it was a very smart move with minimal risk. Most players we sign divide opinion or people would have preferred x ,y or z. Opinions are a pain .

He's played for Bayern Munich so there's no way he could be shit. Some cited 'laziness' at Stoke, which was a fair criticism but hardly surprising considering the dross he played alongside.

To be fair to the Neanderthals at Stoke I checked out their fan site The Oatcake and nearly all of the posters were wishing him well....

The Charlie Adam thread around the same time over something he said....Well let's just say it wasn't so complimentary.

early days but looks every limited inch the effective wildcard Liverpool player I thought he could be.

two time World Cup tournament goalscorers in modest international teams are generally not mugs and is comfortable on the big stage. every time he does the business he makes Neville look like the bitter no nothing bell end he is too, so that's entertaining. as is his off the cuff football style
