Have to admit I wasn’t very excited about this signing. Good player obviously, but when you sign senior players on high salaries, they should be able to improve the team. You always have to look for improvements, otherwise you’ll stand still at best.

And it seems that’s exactly what he is, a player who will not only provide depth and cover, but who brings extreme quality. He can change a game, he can come in to the starting eleven and Klopp won’t be sure if he made it weaker or stronger. He will lift the quality in training surely. Even Sadio and Mo need to perform now to be certain of keeping their place in the team.

Early days, but he looks like a bargain.

I think the consensus on here was that signing him for the price we did was a bit of a no brainer and even if he was a failure it wouldn't have been a big loss. Its obvious he was a class player even at Stoke but there were questions over his fitness and consistency but those questions have been answered very positively and he's even threatening our best players positions too. He's developed a good understanding with Salah and helped Mo get back into his groove once again. We shouldn't really question Klopp's signings ever again after this and the likes of Robbo's signing as we have a manager and staff who know exactly what they want and need when it comes to players. We finally look the real deal and Shaq is really helping with that. Making Bayern look like monkeys with their poor use of him wont be lost on Klopp either.

I wish we still had him.  He would be outstanding with the solid defence we have now.

Couldn't have been easy to see your efforts cancelled out by clowns like Lovren and Mignolet shitting their pants.

He wanted to go, he went.  And it was fuck all to do with Lovren or Mignolet.

Magnificent player, but I'd far rather concentrate on those who want to be at the club rather than see it as a stepping stone to fucking Barcelona.  Good luck to him, and fuck him.  All in the same breath.

Question is: Would we've had that solid defence with him still here? Would there be funds available to buy Van Dijk and Allison without the Cou money?

VVD clearly wouldn’t be at the club.   We’ve done well with the cash but not really replaced Coutinho yet at all.
