Blade Runner. It's stood the test of time incredibly well and has hardly dated in 36 years. 

 

I found both The Goonies and Stand By Me to be hugely over-rated, but i think the problem there was that i only watched them for the first time in my 30's, so the whole sense of nostalgia was lost on me.

I figured the idea behind this thread was the greatest quintessentially 80s film, rather than the greatest film of the 80s.

 

If it's the latter: E.T.

Yeah me too, Ghostbusters isn't my favourite film from the 80s but it's the most quintessentially 80s film IMO along with Back to the Future.
