Northern Ireland played Panama on Tuesday night in their 'farewell game' before they go to the world cup. Some of the tackles that went in were nuts given it was a friendly and you know, one friendly game away from the finals. The referee didn't seem to care one jot.

 

They play Norway in Oslo in a few days, I'll be keeping an eye on it to see if they keep the same idea up. If so, I'd be going in on a few Reds / Yellow for the Canalsiders as plan to get stakes back.

Had a few England-based bets as an interest.

 

Thought 8/1 was good odds for England to finish on 5 points in the group. Could easily see them winning and drawing against the two mugs & a stalemate against Belgium.

 

Working on the thought that we probably won't score loads of goals I checked out the top English goalscorer and had a small investment on Dier ( Free kicks and corners ) at 33/1 , and Cahill ( corners ) at 66/1.

 

Vaguely recall winning some money on Matthew Upson at the tournament with the Lampard non-goal.

I usually back Germany and Italy (ouch!) and have had great success over the years doing so,but with Italy not being there and Germany being a bit short priced for me Spain at around 7 or 8 to 1 look decent value.

For me, the World Cup is more about cheeky goalscorer bets, and there's a few there who might be good to get a nice bit back from a FGS, or such bet.

 

Umtiti looks decent for a goal at long odds.

 

Giroud will usually be a longer price than Griezmann, but has the numbers to rival him.

 

Goretzka good for FGS bet at good odds.

I won a £100 free bet the other day. I was thinking about matched betting it and guaranteeing myself £70 profit but I decided to just punt it on this sixfold at 4.83/1 instead.
